Do you want to put your nursing professionalism to use and help strengthen quality, learning and development in home care?

Do you want to make a difference – not only for the individual citizen but also for your colleagues' professional competence and development?

So perhaps you are the competence-developing nurse we are looking for in District Karup.

Who are we?

Home care and Everyday rehabilitation in District Karup, Viborg Municipality, is a workplace where professionalism, presence and influence go hand in hand.

We are part of the Welfare Reform work in the elderly area, which gives us the opportunity to think creatively, create more flexibility and help to free the bureaucracy. Here you get the chance for real influence on the development of our workplace and the way we solve tasks.

We focus on welfare technology and use, among other things, screen solutions, so some citizens can receive their visits wholly or partly via a screen.

You will become part of a diverse staff group with skilled and engaged colleagues across ages, personalities and professional backgrounds. With us there is room for diversity, professional curiosity and a good laugh in everyday life.

About the job

As a nurse responsible for competence development you will play a central role in strengthening nursing professional quality across the district.

You work closely with the management and help set direction, translate requirements into practice and ensure that quality is not just something we talk about – but something we do.

You will be the driving force behind competence development, quality assurance and implementation of new working procedures. You work practically, systematically and data-based and support that employees have the right competencies to deliver high quality and create security for citizens.

Your primary tasks

  • plan and implement citizen-centered competence development for nurses, social and health care assistants, social and health care helpers, unskilled workers and other relevant professional groups.
  • conduct systematic reflection processes based on concrete citizen visits
  • observe employees in practice for a minimum of three hours daily and create learning through reflection, feedback and professional sparring
  • ensure high professional quality and compliance with current legislation with particular focus on documentation and patient safety

Support employees' professional development with a basis in

  • professional profiles
  • the service catalogue for nursing
  • individual competence forms
  • contribute to a psychologically safe learning culture, professional pride and well-being
  • work closely with the district manager, team leaders and the duty planner on planning of competence development and training in the team.
  • contribute to journal and medication audits as well as other professional improvement initiatives
  • ensure alignment between documentation practices and the health professional task execution in collaboration with the documentation coordinator.
  • a central role in the implementation of the new health reform

We are looking for a nurse who

  • has strong nursing professional competencies and a desire to develop others
  • thrives in practice-based learning situations
  • has good communication and reflection skills
  • can build trust and psychological safety in the learning space
  • works independently, structured and systematically
  • has a focus on quality, patient safety and professional improvement
  • has good collaboration skills and thrives in a cross-disciplinary environment
  • keeps an overview and works holistically
  • wants to help develop both staff and the organization
  • experience with Nexus is an advantage, but not a requirement.

If you have experience with teaching, clinical supervision, learning processes or quality development, that is an advantage – but not a prerequisite. The most important thing is that you want to make a difference and can translate your professional knowledge into learning in practice.

We offer

  • a new and meaningful role where you can influence competence development in the district
  • a strong professional environment with a focus on quality, well-being and learning
  • a workplace where cooperation, integrity and professionalism are valued highly
  • great opportunities to work practice-based and follow development closely with employees
  • good opportunities for sparring with the municipality's other competence-developing nurses
  • a daily life with both independence and close collaboration with management and colleagues

Working hours and employment

You will be responsible for competence development across all shift schedules, both day and evening. Therefore, expect that part of your working time will be outside ordinary day shifts.

The position is 20 hours per week. The remaining hours can, by agreement, be in care or in another relevant special function.

You report to the district manager and work closely with the team leader.

As a rule, work is arranged on weekdays with time off on weekends. However, you should expect to be able to act as a substitute in the nursing group during holidays and longer-term illness.

Would you like to join?

If you are passionate about nursing, learning and development and can see yourself in a role where you both teach, inspire, challenge and support your colleagues, we would love to hear from you.

We look forward to hearing what you can contribute to our professional community in District Karup.
