About the job

The Family House, Haderslev Municipality, is seeking new employees who are passionate about working with children and young people. We need new colleagues, so if you have a pedagogical education and experience in the child field, perhaps you are the one we are looking for?

The Family House is seeking a family therapist for our “Toddlers Team” 37 hours per week with start on 1 December 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. The Toddlers Team is a cross-disciplinary team consisting of family therapists, public health nurses, and social workers. As a family therapist in the team, you will be anchored in the Family House, and will have both internal case discussions with colleagues in the house and team meetings with the entire Toddlers Team across disciplines.

A special feature of the Toddlers Team in Haderslev is that a large part of our work is group-based, and you will therefore be part of these groups. In addition, you will as a family therapist also carry out home visits, which in periods will constitute the majority of the working time. We are creative in our approach to tasks in the team and always do what makes sense for the child.

As an employee at the Family House you will become part of a team of dedicated colleagues in a house with a “high ceiling” and room for professional and personal development, and we prioritize team supervision as well as external supervision. The tasks are varied and diverse.

For the “Toddlers Team” we are seeking a family therapist who

  • has a foundational educational qualification in pedagogy
  • is practically oriented and empathetic, able to work to support parents in creating a secure attachment for their child
  • has courage and willingness to work with families in vulnerable positions, so they become aware of their own strategies and attachment patterns and thereby become able to offer their future child the most appropriate care
  • can work independently but also in a team
  • can work practically pedagogically in the families’ homes and contribute to giving the family more appropriate interaction patterns and strengthen internal relationships
  • has experience with or a desire to work in a network-inclusive manner
  • can work in a structured way and plan their own calendar
  • shows respect for diversity and ways of life
  • has the ability, calm, and courage to “be” with prospective and new parents who themselves are in doubt
  • has experience with or a desire to join our parent groups

For the position it is crucial that you can see yourself working with families of different ethnicities and with respect for different cultures and religions.

As an employee at the Family House you may encounter situations where the child’s best interests are challenged. In these situations you must be able to maintain an overview, and it is important that you as a person are calm and responsible, have self-insight and can operate independently at work. It is essential that you are authentic as a person and can be respectfully present with the family, even in these situations.

Crucially, you as an employee at the Family House must be able to establish contact with the individual parent and child and not be afraid to go beyond your own comfort zone in the work. Children and parents must meet present and genuine adults at the Family House who are attentive to what will be best for the individual child.

Haderslev Municipality places a strong emphasis on involving the private networks of children and young people. For this, among other things, family mediation has become one of Family Counseling’s core methods. All parents connected to the “Toddlers Team” are offered family mediation as early as possible in their pregnancy. It is therefore important to us that our new employee has knowledge of the method or a desire to acquire it, and it is generally important that you as an employee at the Family House work in a network-inclusive manner.

Tasks will be varied, and there will be assignments that do not take place at the Family House, which is why a car and a driving license will be a prerequisite.

We offer you

  • a house with competent employees who are passionate about their work to develop our work
  • to become part of a team with a professional leader and 2-3 other family therapists, 2 public health nurses and 3 social workers
  • a house with nearly 50 employees in total under one department head, handling various tasks under BL § 30 and § 32
  • a curious, dynamic workplace with a focus on professionalism and quality in the work around every single child
  • accessible management with the possibility of 1:1 sparring as well as team sparring and external supervision.
