About the job

Would you like to specialize in pulmonary fibrosis and at the same time become part of a strong pulmonary medicine team? Then we may have the job for you, from 1 December 2026 or by agreement

The Pulmonary Medicine Department is an ambitious department where we continuously develop and improve our treatment and care. We are currently in the process of an exciting development of our Pulmonary Fibrosis Outpatient Clinic, and therefore we are looking for two nurses who want to become part of our dedicated pulmonary fibrosis team.

As a nurse in the Pulmonary Fibrosis Outpatient Clinic you will have a high degree of independence and the opportunity to build special competencies within pulmonary fibrosis. You will also work closely with the doctors in the fibrosis team.

You will as a starting point work about two days a week in the Pulmonary Fibrosis Outpatient Clinic in Medicinerhuset and the other days in the Pulmonary Medicine Ward J4 in Hospitalsbyen.

A job with professional development and the opportunity to make a difference

At the Pulmonary Medicine Department you will meet a wide range of patients and complex pulmonology issues. The department consists of a ward, a spirometry department, a number of outpatient clinics and a research unit.

In the ward you will meet, among others, patients with COPD, lung cancer, tuberculosis, pulmonary fibrosis, etc.

In several of our outpatient clinics the nurses work with autonomous consultations, where the doctor is available as backup.

In the Spirology/Thoracic Oncology department, lung cancer evaluation is a substantial part of the daily work. Here, for example, bronchoscopy and EBUS procedures are performed, both under local and general anesthesia.

We are looking for you who…

We imagine that you are responsible, curious and eager to develop your competencies within pulmonary nursing – with a particular interest in patients with pulmonary fibrosis.

We emphasize that you

  • have a flair for the instrumental part of nursing and want to learn to perform pulmonary function and combo tests as well as other relevant tests
  • can motivate, educate and guide patients on, among other things, smoking cessation, nutrition, inhalation medication and other preventative measures
  • are interested in palliative treatment of terminal pulmonary fibrosis patients both in the outpatient clinic and in the ward.
  • can create empathetic and trusting relationships with patients and relatives

You do not need to be an expert in pulmonary fibrosis from the start. The most important for us is that you have the interest, engagement and desire to learn. We will ensure you receive the necessary training and support.

We offer you

With us you become part of a department where professionalism, development and well-being go hand in hand.

We offer

  • a thorough and individually tailored introductory and training program adapted to your experience
  • a special focus on introduction if you are a new graduate or have not worked in a hospital for a long time
  • participation in ” Godt fra Start ” for new graduate nurses
  • a fixed mentor, who is an experienced nurse
  • close training and supervision with a mentor for about three months, after which we jointly assess when you are ready to stand more independently
  • opportunity to build specialized competencies within pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary medicine

We value a good work environment where well-being is in focus. For us it should be exciting, development-oriented and fun to go to work.

We work every 3rd weekend and strive for you to primarily work either day/evening or day/night.

Have we captured your interest?

If you would like to become part of our pulmonary fibrosis team and at the same time develop your competencies within the entire pulmonary medicine field, we look forward to hearing from you.

Application deadline: Oct 19, 2026
