Om jobbet

Are you curious, well-organized, and interested in working with research, communication, and the development of a new interdisciplinary, multi-university research center? We are looking for 3-4 students to take on both research, administrative, communication, and outreach tasks in the National Center for AI in Society (CAISA). CAISA was established in 2025 as part of the Danish Government’s Strategiske Indsats for Kunstig Intelligens

The center is a national consortium consisting of University of Copenhagen, Aalborg University, Aarhus University, ITU and DTU led by the University of Copenhagen and Aalborg University in close collaboration with the Pioneer Centre for AI. You will be physically located at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Copenhagen (Øster Farimagsgade 5, 1353 Copenhagen K) and will work closely with the administrative and scientific leadership of the center’s Copenhagen hub.

With support from the Research Reserve and the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the center involves both part-time and full-time researchers, as well as a number of fellows and visiting scholars. The ambition is to create a dynamic, open, and international environment with strong societal engagement.

We hope that you think the opportunity to play a central part in running and developing a research center sounds exciting, and that you are interested in working in an ambitious and interdisciplinary research environment. If you are, we can offer a position where you can be part of shaping your tasks and responsibilities and where we prioritize your academic and professional development in a team that puts a great deal of weight on providing a fun and nice working environment.

2-3 of the positions will be general CAISA students working with tasks such as those listed below, assisting both researchers and the secretariat. One of the positions will particularly be directed at our impact and outreach activities, and this student will work with event management, contact with external people, AI stakeholder analysis, our CRM system Lime and will be working closely with the Head of Collaborations in CAISA. Please note in your application if you are particularly interested in this position.

Your tasks will include

  • Contributing to research communication, including setting up, proofreading, and promoting research briefs as well as graphical tasks (for an example of a brief, follow this link; https://cdn.prod.website-files.com/68a5a8945286cdc22e44dee2/6a4bb05e328dfd1402761ae1_13_Hyperscale-datacentre_i_Danmark_set_fra_et_borgerperspektiv.pdf
  • Preparing slides and materials for presentations and meetings
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of events and workshops
  • Supporting research related tasks; supporting work on surveys, workshops, literature reviews, data cleaning, etc.
  • Assisting researchers with publication processes (proofreading, reference management, etc.)
  • Supporting the development and updating of CAISA’s website in Webflow
  • Assisting with practical and ad hoc aspects of running and developing a growing research centre.

We are looking for someone who

  • Is open, curious, and enjoys working with people from different academic backgrounds
  • Has strong Danish and English language skills, both written and spoken, and an eye for detail when proofreading
  • Is comfortable handling a wide range of tasks
  • Has strong organizational skills and is skilled in synthesizing and structuring information
  • Is willing to learn to use Webflow (not a requirement, but we would like this for at least one of the new student assistants)
  • Takes interest in how AI is shaping and impacting different aspects of society

Practical information

  • Working hours: Approximately 15 hours per week with flexibility around exam periods
  • Workplace: CAISA, Cph Hub. Øster Farimagsgade 5a, 1353 København K
  • Start date: together we agree on a time between 1st December to 1st January

Working Hours and Salary

The working hours are flexible, averaging about 10-15 hours per week.

The employment is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the General Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations – the State Sector (OAO-S General Collective Agreement), as well as the Organisation Agreement for Office Staff, Laboratory Technicians, and IT Employees (HK).

You will be employed as a student HK with an hourly wage of DKK 145.73 (current rate). Your salary placement will be based on previous employment.

It is a requirement for the employment that you are enrolled and actively pursuing a higher education programme.

The University of Copenhagen aims to reflect the surrounding society and encourages all qualified individuals to apply for the position, regardless of personal background.
