DHL Global Forwarding (Denmark) is looking for an experienced Ocean Freight Operations Head

Som vores nye Ocean Freight Operations Head vil du spille en central rolle i at udvikle og styrke vores ocean freight-aktiviteter i Danmark. Du vil have ansvaret for at drive operationel ydeevne, implementere globale standarder og sikre, at vores processer, systemer og måder at arbejde på understøtter både kundernes forventninger og forretningsmål.

Ved at arbejde tæt sammen med kolleger i hele den danske organisation, regionale og globale teams, vil du omsætte strategier og forbedringsmuligheder til praktiske løsninger, der skaber målbare resultater.

Dette er en rolle for en person, der forstår realiteterne i spedition og godstransport, nyder at udvikle mennesker og processer og har evnen til at omdanne forandringer til varige forbedringer.

Du vil referere til Ocean Freight Head Denmark og arbejde tæt sammen med den regionale Ocean Freight Operations-organisation.

Your key responsibilities in the role will be to

• drive the implementation and adoption of global ocean freight processes, standards and solutions across the Danish organization.
• develop and execute operational improvement initiatives focusing on productivity, quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• monitor operational performance and use relevant KPIs, customer feedback and operational insights to identify improvement opportunities.
• lead change management activities and support colleagues in adopting new processes, systems and ways of working.
• collaborate closely with Global Shared Services, regional teams and local IT to identify opportunities for standardization, centralization and automation.
• coach and develop employees and support a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and collaboration.
• work closely with internal stakeholders, carriers and service providers to improve operational performance and service delivery.

We are looking for someone, who

• combines a strong operational understanding with the ability to see opportunities for improvement and development.
• enjoys leading change and understands that successful implementation requires both clear direction and involvement of the people affected.
• works in a structured and analytical manner, using data and operational insights to support decisions.
• takes ownership of challenges and follows improvement initiatives through to completion.
• can balance operational efficiency, quality, compliance and customer expectations.
• communicates clearly and confidently with stakeholders at different organizational levels.
• can influence and create alignment across teams and functions, even without direct managerial authority.
• enjoys developing colleagues, sharing knowledge and building a culture of continuous improvement.
• is comfortable working in an international organization where local priorities and global standards must work together.

We expect you to

• have more than 6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within freight forwarding and ocean freight operations.
• have a solid understanding of operational processes, performance management and customer requirements within international logistics.
• have experience with process improvement, project management or operational transformation.
• have experience leading people, teams or cross-functional improvement initiatives.
• be familiar with operational systems and digital solutions used within freight forwarding. Experience with CargoWise or similar systems is an advantage.
• have experience working with operational KPIs, quality standards and compliance requirements.
• hold a Bachelor's degree or have equivalent relevant experience and qualifications.
• be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
• be able to communicate professionally in Danish.

Workplace: DHL Global Forwarding, enten Hedegaardsvej 88, 2300 Copenhagen S eller Centerbakken 1, Vejle – and as part of the job, you will have some traveling, mostly domestically, but as well internationally.

Working hours: The position is a full-time position

The compensation package: The base salary is determined by your qualifications and competencies. The position is graded and sit within a predefined payband. Besides the base salary you will have – just to mentioned a few of the benefits - a pension scheme, bonus scheme, 25+5 vacation days per year, and a “Fritvalgskonto” (a “saving account” equal to 10% of your annual salary) paid out in December.
