1 introductory position in otorhinolaryngology

An introduction position (8001-22-46-i-7) is available for occupancy on 1 December 2026 or as agreed.

The department is the only ear-nose-throat surgical department in the North Jutland Region and handles most functions at regional and highly specialized level. The department diagnoses and treats a large number of cancer patients and in addition manages benign ENT surgery, ear surgery and nasal and sinus surgery with the use of navigation. The department also diagnoses and treats a large number of patients with vestibulological disorders and an increasing number of patients with sleep disorders.

The department has a good and informal work climate, both inter-collegial and with our collaborators.

The medical staff structure at the Functional Unit comprises 1 chief physician, 9 consultants, 6 specialist physicians, 7 resident doctors and 7 introductory doctors.

Education

The department has a good educational and learning environment, and specific course modules are offered aimed at doctors in introductory positions.

An education program is available for the position. Aalborg University Hospital educates new doctors, and one should expect to participate in teaching medical students and colleagues in the department.

Duty structure

The department has 3 on-call shifts and currently consists of an 8-shift emergency on-call team, an 8-shift back-up team and a 9-10 shift front-duty team.

Research

The department is research-active, and the applicant is expected to engage in collaboration with the research-responsible specialist in project work, quality assurance, teaching and research, as well as in development of the department's functions.

Salary and employment terms

Applications for the introductory position are made in accordance with the current agreement between Danish Regions and the Association of Young Doctors.

During employment, some out-of-field service in Thisted may be expected to a lesser extent.

Qualifications

The applicant must be a physician and have completed the internship (KBU).
