About the job
Would you like to help strengthen the early, preventive, and holistic approach for children and families in Stevns Municipality? We are seeking 2-3 family therapists who want to join a small unit where we are in the process of developing our shared professional direction in close collaboration with other actors in the child and family field. This means you will have the opportunity to be close to the development, contribute your experiences, and help shape collaboration forms, methods, and interventions.
We are seeking staff for family therapist positions that involve multiple tasks – and therefore we are interested in hearing from you who have a relevant health-related, pedagogical, therapeutic, psychological, or similar background – preferably in combination.
We are currently in the process of seeking funds to develop a Family House for the 0-6 age group. The Family House initiative is both political and professional and focuses on ensuring early prevention, easy access to coherent support, and a holistic approach for expecting parents and families with young children. Therefore, we would like you to have experience with and/or an interest in work with young children, parents in vulnerable positions, and early family interventions.
About the position
As a family therapist, you will be part of an area where we work closely across the social area, health visitors, PPR (Pædagogisk-psykologisk rådgivning), kindergartens, schools, and other relevant partners. The tasks will include family therapy programs, conversations with children, adolescents and parents, guidance in parenting, observations, network involvement, and interdisciplinary coordination around the family’s overall situation.
You will have a daily life with a lot of independence, and you will largely plan your appointments and working hours yourself. The work takes place both in the Family House in Store Heddinge and in the families’ own homes.
You must be prepared for changing working hours, as work is continuously planned together with the families and may vary from task to task. Working hours are mainly between 8:00 and 20:00 (flexible pay is included in the position).
About the workplace
We are focused on getting even better at cross-disciplinary collaboration and ensuring high professional quality in our task execution. At the same time, we are at a stage where we are quietly building common approaches, a common language, and a more cohesive practice across interventions and partners. Therefore you must be prepared to actively and constructively contribute to this development with professional curiosity, collaboration skills, and a view to common solutions.
Family interventions as a unit are under development, and in our development work we aim to handle family-focused tasks based on the child’s rights, including family therapy, contact person tasks, visitation, family guiding scheme, and practical pedagogical support.
Your tasks will include, among others
- Planning and carrying out tasks based on the child’s and family’s needs
- Working on parental skills, interaction, well-being, structure, and everyday coping
- Participating in interdisciplinary collaboration around children and families
- Contributing to the development of new interventions and workflows in a unit under consolidation
- Documenting professionally, systematically, and relevantly in relation to goals, progression, and follow-up
- Supporting early, preventive, and holistic interventions, especially in the field of small children
We hope you have
You don’t need to tick every box. We are hiring more staff and are therefore focused on assembling a team where different competences, experiences, and interests together can match the tasks. This means we are looking for someone who
- Has a relevant social, health, pedagogical, or therapeutic education, e.g., social worker, pedagogue, family therapist, health visitor, or another relevant background.
- Has experience with family therapy, parental collaboration, and work with children and families in vulnerable positions – and preferably experience with the 0-6 age group, infants and toddlers, or early preventive interventions.
- Can work systematically, purposefully, and relationally with a focus on the child’s well-being and the family’s resources.
- Has an eye for both the child’s perspective, the parents’ situation, and the family’s overall context.
- Thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration and can create engagement through clear communication and professional curiosity.
- Wants to be an active part of a developing unit where there is a need for professional stability, flexibility, and commitment.
- Can work independently but also sees the value of shared reflection, sparring, and development of practice.
- Has experience with or a desire to work with group programs as part of the family-therapeutic effort.
- Has a driving license and can transport yourself around the municipality as needed.
