2 Therapists for Allorfik Sermersooq in Nuuk

2 clinicians/therapists are sought for Allorfik Sermersooq with commencement on 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

We expect that you have a mid-level higher preparatory education such as teacher, pedagogue or social worker. The treatment at Allorfik is based on motivational interviewing and a cognitive behavioral therapeutic treatment model. If you are not educated in the field, Allorfik will provide your training.

In addition, it is an advantage if you have a supervision, psychotherapy education or similar advanced training.

Allorfik Sermersooq offers citizens in the Municipality of Sermersooq treatment for alcohol, cannabis and gambling addiction, and therefore travel in the districts may occur, preventive tasks, and involvement in prevention in the town in collaboration with the municipality on projects. At the center there are currently 4 therapists; one of the therapists functions as group leader.

Allorfik's local centers are organizationally under the Knowledge Center on Addiction in Nuuk, which among other things is responsible for the national effort against problems with illicit drugs and gambling. You will have significant influence on organizing your work in collaboration with the Knowledge Center on Addiction, which also offers supervision to you.

As a therapist you shall among other things

• Motivate for treatment using Motivational Interviewing
• Treat and advise citizens with problems with alcohol, cannabis and gambling
• Provide follow-up treatment and educate relatives
• Carry out intake assessment conversations and report to the national addiction database
• Collaborate with the municipality regarding citizens' aftercare and problems that hinder treatment
• Educate about the offers at Allorfik and our methods

The treatment will predominantly take place in Greenlandic, while the education/training will take place in Danish. Therefore you must be bilingual. Applications and interviews are processed on an ongoing basis.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment, including the right to appointment- and termination-related travel and relocation, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the respective negotiating organization.

For an applicant with the right demonstrable competencies, there may be recruitment as a Special Consultant, Chief Consultant or Senior Advisor in accordance with the applicable collective agreement

Housing

No staff housing is allocated to the position. If a applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to designated staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated at the end of the employment.
