A LITTLE ABOUT ME

My name is Mette, I am 37 years old and I have muscular dystrophy. That means I sit in a wheelchair and need a helper around the clock who can be my arms and legs when my own limbs aren’t enough 🙂

I live in Hvidovre, I am trained as a lawyer, and in my spare time I love being creative and singing. For me it is important that my helper is motivated and has initiative, as you as a helper accompany me everywhere. That means you must be ready for daily tasks such as toilet visits, bathing, cleaning, cooking etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Since one of my current helpers is leaving, I am looking for a new helper. If you have a good sense of humor, and you see the glass as half full rather than half empty, read on here and see if you can also check off the following:

• You want to be employed for at least 1 year
• You can have both day and awake night shifts
• You would like to have 12-hour shifts
• You can work about 6-8 shifts
• You are stable
• You have a driver's license
• You are flexible and can cover for the other helpers
• Non-smoker on shifts

Shifts are 12-hour shifts and take place in the time window 08.00-20.00 and 20.00-08.00. A shift plan will be made so you always know your shifts. Since you are employed in a self-supplying team, there may be extra shifts during holidays, illness etc. in the fixed team.

As my helper, your shifts can fall on all days of the week, as I am always in the company of a helper. Experience is not a must, as you will be trained by one of the current helpers from my team, following Respirationscenter Øst’s guidelines. You do not have independent shifts before you have completed training and certification at RespirationsCenter Øst (RCØ) .

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

• Start date: As soon as possible
• Part-time: 24 hours per week
