Two lively boys aged 9 and 10 are looking for helpers for our teams. We are looking for present and engaged people who can help with the practical things, support our independence and at the same time be a part of our daily life with both activities, play and quiet moments.

A LITTLE ABOUT US

We are two lively boys aged 9 and 10 who have muscular dystrophy. We live with our parents and our dog in a house in Hvalsø.

We love to play a lot of games, especially Roblox, but also other games such as Uno.

We enjoy playing, tumbling both indoors and outdoors, as well as playing games. But we also like the calm coziness of watching TV, reading a book or other when our energy level drops, as we can quickly become overstimulated.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We both have a need for help in daily life and therefore seek helpers for each of our teams. There will always be one helper for each of us, and the positions are distributed between two independent helper teams.

The positions are part-time, and the number of hours will be agreed further in a conversation. Shifts are distributed across all days of the week, and we therefore seek helpers for both weekdays and weekends. The shifts will be in day and evening hours.

What we look for in a helper is that you are calm and present, who can read our needs. It is important that you can support us in deciding and doing what we can, but at the same time that you can wait and step in immediately when there is a need. So you must be able to be the “fly on the wall,” but at the same time be able to actively help when the need arises.

Your primary task is to help us with what we cannot do physically ourselves. This includes among other things personal care, physical support and practical tasks including driving us to and from school, being with us at school, and driving to other activities and more. But it is also important that you enjoy doing something fun with us when we want to.

You become, as a disability helper, part of a good, flexible and necessary team of disability helpers who together cover all shifts year-round. The job takes place in the citizen’s own home, at leisure activities, social events and the outings the citizen would like to participate in.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Driving license B
• Flexible
• Practical
• Non-smoker
• Respect and understanding for working in a private home
• Can tolerate dogs
