About the job

Leadership role – close to people and close to practice

Do you want to lead a strong professional community and help create the best conditions for adults with intellectual disability and autism?

As department head at Toruplund you will be a central part of daily operations and professional development. You will have the management responsibility for about 25 engaged employees. You will play an important role in creating a safe, clear and developing workplace.

You will have close collaboration with the service manager and the local management team, which besides you consists of three other department heads. You will also be part of a leadership team and network groups across the departments in Special Area Autism, where we take on tasks together, share knowledge and help one another succeed.

Who are you?

You do not necessarily need to be an experienced leader. Perhaps this is your first step into a leadership role. The most important thing is that you are motivated for leadership, can build trust and followership, and have a solid social-professional foundation.

We are looking for a leader with a social-work education, an in-depth knowledge of the target group adults with developmental disabilities and autism, and experience with or solid knowledge about LA2U. You should be able to see value in strong professional communities, clear frameworks and a work environment where wellbeing, safety and professional quality go hand in hand.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • Create good conditions for wellbeing, development and professional quality for both residents and staff
  • Support and spar with the social-professional coordinator, work-time planner, occupational safety representative and staff
  • Ensure continued implementation and development of LA2U in daily practice
  • Contribute to a culture characterized by learning, reflection and professional curiosity
  • Focus on resources, competences and quality in task execution
  • Work proactively with the working environment, wellbeing and psychological safety
  • Ensure high safety for both residents and staff through preventive actions, learning and systematic follow-up
  • Actively participate in the leadership team and contribute to development across the organization

We imagine you

  • Have a social-work education, for example as a pedagogue or social worker
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the target group adults with developmental disabilities and autism
  • Have experience with or solid knowledge about LA2U and can translate the professional approach into daily practice
  • Know about “The Three” and The Professional Mindset in Collaboration
  • Are focused on creating a good working environment and ensuring safe frames for both staff and residents
  • Can build relationships, set direction and follow up on agreements and actions
  • Are able to balance clear leadership with involvement and dialogue
  • Have a calm, present and acknowledging approach
  • Can keep an overview and make decisions in a daily life with many considerations
  • Want to develop as a leader and contribute to joint solutions

The everyday at Toruplund

At Toruplund you lead in a daily life where high professionalism, working environment and safety go hand in hand. As department head you must create calm, direction and coherence in a complex practice where staff solve tasks every day close to residents with substantial support needs.

That means you must both have an eye for each employee’s wellbeing and development and, at the same time, ensure shared professional solutions that create quality, stability and safety for both residents and staff.

We believe that good results are created through strong relationships, clear expectations, professional reflection and close collaboration between leadership and staff.

Your leader

You report to the service manager of the Hedensted cluster.

You will have a leader who

  • Gives freedom with responsibility and prioritizes supportive sparring and dialogue
  • Focuses on collaboration, shared solutions and results
  • Believes that the best solutions are created in a collective effort
  • Prioritizes learning, reflection and development over control
  • Creates clear boundaries and supports a working environment characterized by trust, responsibility and psychological safety
