About the job

Are you engaged, professionally curious and passionate about creating safety, quality of life and meaningful everyday lives for older citizens? Then you now have the opportunity to become an evening shift worker in the respite care at Plejehjemmet Åløkkeparken.

We are looking for a trained social and health helper (SSH) to

  • Residential unit

The position is structured as follows

  • Work in a fixed 5-2 rotation, always Monday and Tuesday
  • Working hours every other weekend in odd weeks
  • The positions are generally 37 hours per week, of which 28 hours are in the evening shift
  • If a desire for full-time arises, the remaining hours may be placed in another shift

Start date 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible

Plejehjemmet Åløkkeparken

Åløkkeparken consists of 48 housing units distributed in six smaller residential units with eight apartments each. In addition, we have a respite department. Common to the entire house is a cozy and homely atmosphere where professionalism and presence go hand in hand.

In the summer of 2026, residential unit D. living room was converted into a unit where residents have an expanded need for care, assistance and individual pedagogical support to thrive.

Each house has 2-3 fixed day shifts and 2 fixed evening shifts. In addition, there are two nurses available in the house from Monday to Friday, whom we involve and who involve us. We have overlap between shift teams, which provides a good opportunity for close collaboration.

We are in the midst of an exciting development process at Åløkkeparken as a whole and are therefore looking for an employee who is eager to actively contribute both professionally and collegially.

With us you will experience

  • A workday with wonderful moments where you can really make a difference for others
  • Flexible framework, where you plan tasks together with the team and independently
  • Thorough onboarding
  • Colleagues who meet each other and the residents with a positive attitude, presence, respect and integrity

Professionally we work as a whole based on Tom Kitwood's theory of person-centred care. We use the Blooming model in our approach to the individual. We were registered as Eden home in June 2026. We offer a 3-day training program in Eden Alternative.

We place a high value on learning and professional development, both for newcomers in the field and for the experienced who can still learn new methods. We have many students in the house, both SSH and SSA. Our goal is to recruit excellent colleagues when they complete their education.

About the position

Together with your team you will be responsible for the residential unit in the evening and help create the framework for enjoyable evenings for our residents. Your tasks will include:

  • Contribute to coherence in residents' trajectories through good observations and documentation of them. We work in Nexus, so it is an advantage if you know the system; otherwise there is good onboarding
  • Contact with residents, relatives and partners
  • Medication management and responsibility as SSH
  • Coordinate and perform tasks within basic care and rehabilitation
  • Coordinate tasks and information between teams

About you

We are looking for a colleague who values professionalism and is passionate about taking responsibility for their own unit together with their team. It is important that you are independent, responsible and reliable. At the same time we need a team player who enhances collaboration in the team and shares responsibility for the whole, and who helps create and maintain the good working environment we have at Åløkkeparken.

Additionally we would like you to

  • Be trained as a Social and Health Helper
  • Work with care and be good at seeing the resident as a whole
  • Have knowledge of and experience with working with residents with dementia and psychiatric illnesses
  • Be able to reflect on your own practice and acquire new knowledge and adapt routines
  • Be inclusive and have a good overview – even when things do not go exactly as planned
  • Have good Danish skills both verbally and in writing
