About the job

In Nykøbing Sjælland, our new community house is located.

It is the gathering point for residents in Granhøjens Skæve Boliger and will become your primary base as an activities and social engagement staff member.

Here, socializing can arise over a cup of coffee or around a shared meal. It can also be a bicycle that needs repair or some practical task that needs to be arranged together.

Other times there is a need for you to take initiative and start an activity together with the residents.

Your role is to create life in the community house and opportunities for residents to take part in the community on their own terms.

Residents live separately – the community house provides an opportunity to meet

At Granhøjens Skæve Boliger, residents live in their own houses and apartments around Odsherred.

Most manage quite well on their own. Therefore, our work rarely involves doing things for them. It is about supporting them to succeed on their own.

For many of our residents, living close to others is challenging. Therefore, they live in independent homes where the support is based on each resident's situation and goals.

The community house also provides an opportunity to be part of a community.

Here, residents can meet for a meal or an activity. They can also participate in the practical things that belong to everyday life.

The community house is also a professional base for the staff. Here we collaborate on the support each individual resident needs.

Your everyday life as an activities and social engagement staff member

You will have a special responsibility for daily life in the community house.

This means that you will plan and carry out activities together with the residents and your colleagues. The activities should build on what the residents themselves are interested in and would like to be part of.

It can be cooking and shared meals. It can also be bicycle repairs or smaller maintenance tasks.

You should be able to turn an idea into something concrete while also keeping in mind how residents themselves can contribute.

Not all residents necessarily come forward on their own. Some need support or motivation to participate. Therefore, you will also work proactively to find out what can make participation possible for the individual.

The goal is not that everyone participates in the same way.

You should help create opportunities where the individual can contribute based on their own prerequisites.

You will also hold house meetings and involve residents in the development of what happens in the community house.

As part of your work, you document relevant actions and agreements in our professional systems. The observations you make about residents' well-being and participation, you bring into the professional collaboration with your colleagues.

You will become part of a team where we help each other

Even though you have a special responsibility for daily life in the community house, you do not solve the task alone.

You collaborate with the other staff on the activities and on the support the individual resident needs.

You also contribute with what you see and experience in the community house so that it can be brought into the common professional work with the residents.

Is this you we are looking for?

Your professional background can vary.

You may have a pedagogical or social work background. A health care or trades background can also be relevant.

The important thing is that you can build relationships with people with different prerequisites and support them in participating without taking over.

You can translate ideas into something that can actually work in daily life. And you can take initiative when there is a need for someone to get something started.

If you have experience with people in social-psychiatric offerings or a similar target group, that is an advantage.

You should be able to work from a recovery-oriented and rehabilitative approach. This means, among other things, that you base your work on the resident's resources and wishes and support possibilities for the greatest possible independence.

You should also be able to document your work in relevant professional systems and be comfortable with IT at user level.

And you have a driving license (B).

What you get with us

With us, you get colleagues who use each other.

That means you are not alone with difficult situations or professional dilemmas.

You also get opportunities for internal courses and education so you can keep developing your professional stance.

And you will be part of a workplace where we are more focused on the person than on the diagnosis.

The position is 37 hours per week with rotating day and evening shifts. Additionally, weekend shifts are included according to a fixed schedule.
