About the job | Dialogue, complex data analyses, communication and development

At its core, your job is to determine the best estimate of the company's technical reserves. You do this partly by diving into a lot of data, partly by having an ongoing and close dialogue with your colleagues, primarily in Claims. Data and models are good tools, but without the dialogue with colleagues who have their finger on the pulse, the models' ability to hit the mark is limited.

As a supplement to your analytical work, you shall communicate your conclusions and recommendations, and you must do so in a way that makes sense to colleagues without your own mathematical and statistical insight. Your primary tasks will be to:

• Translate data and gather input from the business, primarily from colleagues in Claims
• Carry out reserving analyses with responsibility for your own portfolios
• Prepare and communicate your conclusions and recommendations to your stakeholders in Claims and others.
• Be a Business Partner with respect to the business areas
• Together with your colleagues create new frameworks for Reserving in Tryg’s Nordic organization - a highly prioritized project

You will have 9 good colleagues at the office in Ballerup, where we of course have good flexibility regarding remote work. All your colleagues are actuaries/analysts like you, so there are optimal opportunities for professional sparring. Knowledge sharing and development is highly prioritized, just as the desire to help each other is a fixed part of daily life.

About you | Statistical education and minimum 3 years reserving experience

You will need your thoroughness and attention to detail when you take responsibility for some of the most business-critical numbers and analyses in Tryg. In addition, we expect you to have the professional curiosity that makes you want to understand what drives the results in your analyses. Therefore you also have a healthy critical sense that makes you not just automatically accept data and model results as good.

You are also what we call ”gifted lazy” - you always think about whether a given task could be solved in a smarter and less time-consuming way. Last but not least, you have the ability and courage to present your results understandably and precisely, also when the messages go in a direction different from what recipients might wish. In addition you can check the following:

• A MSc in actuarial science, econometrics, statistics or similar
• Minimum 3 years reserving experience in non-life insurance - more experience is of course also welcome
• Communicate clearly and precisely in writing and speaking in a Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish or Norwegian) as well as English.
