About the job
Would you like to help provide our students and learners with strong professional prerequisites to work professionally and practically within the pedagogical field?
Center for Pædagogik i Roskilde is seeking an adjunct or lecturer for a permanent position with the aim of planning, delivering and evaluating teaching on the teacher education program as well as continuing and further education courses. We are looking for an instructor who can strengthen the center's competencies in e-learning and digital learning formats. It is a central requirement that you have experience in the development and delivery of digital learning pathways.
In addition, you must be able to teach across the three specializations of the teacher education program: early childhood education, school/leisure, and social- and special pedagogy.
At Professionshøjskolen Absalon, our ambition is to deliver engaging teaching. It is part of our educational commitment to the students that you facilitate teaching of high quality while being passionate about creating learning and motivating the students. It is important that the students can feel the value of their education from day one. This contributes to a distinctive educational culture where you as a teacher support a community among the students, which contributes to a cohesive organization, puts the students first, and has a strong educational professionalism.
Your profile
You will play an important role in teaching both in the initial teacher education program and in the continuing and further education area. It is therefore essential that you can see yourself in the following:
Special professional competencies. We especially emphasize that you have solid experience in developing, organizing and delivering e-learning and digital learning pathways, as well as documented competencies within digital learning design and digital teaching and guidance forms. At the same time, you have broad pedagogical insight and the professional prerequisites to teach across the three specializations of the teacher education program: early childhood education, school/leisure, and social- and special pedagogy.
We would like you to be able to document your competencies through previous teaching, development or educational tasks.
Practical experience. You have experience working in pedagogical practice fields within early childhood education, school/leisure, social- and special pedagogical offerings or similar. You can easily supplement theoretical material with practical examples, and you have a flair for incorporating the students' experiences as a natural part of the teaching.
Didactic experience and competencies. You stand strong in meeting students, where your teaching reflects variation, presence and engagement. You can facilitate and lead learning processes, and your teaching is characterized by being varied, present and engaging. Your approach to teaching is marked by an ambition of inclusion and a high professional standard with an eye to creating different participation opportunities for the students.
Strong collaboration skills. You are interested in being part of a learning community where teaching is developed together with your colleagues, and where professional sparring is a fixed part of daily life.
Focus on the core task and good study environments. You have a high level of expertise, and you see the core task as the driving point for prioritizing your work tasks. You can also see yourself contributing to Absalon’s educational pledge, which includes creating inclusive study environments.
In addition, we expect that
- you have a master's, candidate degree or Ph.D. related to the pedagogical field and/or the social- and special-pedagogical field.
Your tasks
As a teacher at the Center for Pedagogy, your work takes place within three areas
Undergraduate education. You join a team that plans and evaluates teaching and collaborates on improving the quality of the modules you will teach. You will also work across teams in connection with handovers between modules.
Continuing and further education. You will become part of various collaborative constellations around planning and conducting continuing and further education programs. You should expect to teach in several different locations in and outside the region and at Absalon’s other locations. It is therefore an advantage if you have your own car.
Research and development. You should expect to participate in practice-oriented and innovative research and development projects.
You should expect that, to a limited extent, teaching may occur until 6:00 PM and on Saturdays.
Your colleagues
You will become part of the Center for Pedagogy with around 140 employees distributed across five of Absalon’s campuses. Your primary workplace will be on Campus Roskilde, within walking distance of Trekroner Station.
At the teacher education program in Roskilde we are a dynamic workplace with about 60 skilled employees. Every day we work together to educate the teachers of the future and to make current professionals and leaders more capable.

We support this through Absalon’s lecturer qualification program, which all newly hired adjuncts participate in, and everyone is assigned a supervisor. To be hired as a lecturer requires a positive lecturer assessment within the scope of the position structure.
When hiring lecturers who were lecturer-assessed before the 2013 position structure, employment is under the previously centrally fixed salary and terms. Depending on your qualifications, weighed against the specific content of the position, renewed lecturer assessment under the current job structure (fast-track arrangement) may be agreed.
