About the job
We are seeking two nurses for permanent positions, initially 37 hours.
In the Adolescent Psychiatric Ward 4 we admit young patients aged 14–18 (21) years with various psychiatric disorders and issues.
As a nurse with us you will be part of a manageable department with conditions and framework that allow you to focus on the individual youth and meet them with high professional standards regarding their psychiatric problems.
We are good at helping each other in daily life, and you will always have someone to confer with about big and small matters.
We emphasise a calm everyday life, as experience shows that the youths function best in this, though some days are busy.
With us you can expect
- a thoroughly planned introduction program, where you will get a mentor who can be used for sparring in connection with start-up and training in the different work areas we have in the ward
- a varied daily life, where we solve challenges together, with strong professional security and high competence in the interdisciplinary collaboration between the ward's many professional groups
- to meet the youths in short and longer admissions of both acute and elective character as well as during user-directed admissions
- colleagues and management characterized among other things by their engagement and motivation for the adolescent psychiatric specialty and solving our primary tasks of assessment, diagnosis and treatment
- to become part of our good working environment, where we continuously focus on having a safe and appreciative environment with room for humor and professional reflection
- opportunities for courses and development during your employment.
Your task after the introduction period will be to
- observe and describe your observations based on knowledge of the adolescent psychiatric specialty and continue to improve your skills within this
- be able to accommodate the youths with severe self-harm, digital self-harm and outwardly challenging behaviour and dare to have conversations about this in collaboration with your colleagues
- focus on working to prevent coercion together with the rest of the ward staff
- focus on relationship building and patient involvement
- be able to adapt planned activities according to the youth's individual needs and functional level
- participate in de-escalation and assist other inpatient wards in difficult situations after training therefor.
In our ward we work, among other things, with focus on
- interdisciplinary collaboration based on a mentalization-based milieu therapy and a primary contact system. We have opportunities for various activities in the department such as board games, sport, creative activities, socializing and small talk as part of observing the youths
- patient involvement and close collaboration with relatives and residential facilities.
We strive to see the whole person. The youths, alongside their psychiatric challenges, undergo the same development as other youths regarding identity, education, gender, budding sexuality, establishing a circle of friends and digital literacy, etc.
We strive for day and evening shifts or day and night shifts. The positions include, as a rule, 6–8 evening or night shifts per month and weekend work every 3rd weekend in 12-hour shifts. Since we are a mixed staff group, there are often different preferences for the distribution of shifts and we do a lot to find a balance for the individual employee in relation to the number of evening/night shifts.
