About the job
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution seeks an acting head of the prosecutorial office with responsibility for general matters for the Public Prosecution Service at East Jutland Police.
The position is available for filling as of 1 January 2027.
Head of the Prosecution Office
The head of the prosecutorial office reports to the Chief Prosecutor and is part of the local prosecution service's leadership team, which is responsible for ensuring that criminal cases are handled at a high professional level and with the necessary speed, and that the prioritization of cases is carried out in accordance with the requirements set by the Police Chief based on target and result requirements for the police district.
The head of the prosecutorial office shall lead the prosecutorial tasks, ensure efficiency, quality and legality in the prosecutorial work and have a focus on ensuring that the prosecutorial staff thrive and develop. The head of the prosecutorial office should also keep an eye on the duties of the prosecution service across the local prosecution service and actively participate in cross-silo collaboration within the police district.
The area of responsibility for the head of the prosecutorial office will initially be the prosecution of general cases. In connection with a reorganization of the prosecution service in 2027, where criminal case processing is likely to occur in professional communities centered on a common operations and visitation unit, it is expected that the head of the prosecutorial office's area of responsibility will become one or more of the professional communities.
Qualifications
The head of the prosecutorial office must be a well-qualified jurist (cand.jur.) with solid prosecutorial experience and high professional integrity with a focus on quality, legality and development. It would be an advantage if you have insight into and understanding of political processes as well as experience with professional leadership, personnel management and operations management.
It is expected that you have personal presence and execution power as well as a motivating leadership style with a focus on visibility, legality and results. In addition, it is assumed that you are passionate about developing both the prosecution service and the police district.
Salary and employment terms
The position is temporary and is remunerated with a basic salary as a senior consultant, cf. the AC Collective Agreement’s annex on special consultants and chiefs consultants on the new pay scale, and an additional temporary supplementary allowance is added. If you are already appointed as a civil servant, you may maintain this form of employment.
The salary level corresponds to a position in pay grade 1 under the Framework Agreement on the contractual employment of senior managers in the state (pay scale 37 for civil servants).
If you are already a prosecutor or Secretariat Chief, you can move to the position and maintain your current salary and employment terms.
The position’s employment domain is the Ministry of Justice with its affiliated institutions. Your workplace will be East Jutland Police, Aarhus.

About the police district
The prosecution service at East Jutland Police is currently divided into 3 prosecutorial offices as well as an administrative section, but as mentioned above we are planning a reorganizational change in 2027. We appear in court in Aarhus and Randers. In terms of personnel, we are a broadly mixed group of both young and more experienced prosecutors and administrative staff. We prioritize that each individual has influence on and responsibility for planning their own work.
Application deadline: 19 October 2026
Department: Frederiksholm Kanal 16 1220 Copenhagen K
