Æblehaven is seeking a Developmental Nurse for a maternity leave cover.

Who are we?

Æblehaven is a cozy elderly center, with 87 apartments distributed in 10 small houses, with 6-9 apartments in each house. We consist of 3 nursing departments, each with their own nurses. We have a documentation nurse, a nursing specialist and a dementia consultant, who are cross-functional within Æblehaven. You will have close collaboration with all of them in daily work. In addition, we have administration, technical service department, activity and training unit, laundry, large kitchen and a day center.

You will become a central driving force in the nursing professional development at Æblehaven, in a staff function directly under the center manager.

• You drive clinical development close to practice with a particular focus on patient safety, early detection/intervention, triage and prevention of hospitalizations.
• You take on an important role in developing employees’ competencies across professional groups, where you plan teaching and development activities according to needs.
• You hold the role of the hygiene key person and ensure good hygiene standards and infection prevention in Æblehaven.
• You are proactive and know how to translate instructions, guidelines, and research so that they match the recipient.

Across the elder care/ Elderly and Care in the municipality

• You participate in cross-functional tasks together with development nurses, consultants and other partners.
• You become an active part of the development nurse group in Elderly and Care.

What will be your main tasks?

• You plan and anchor development projects – currently the implementation of the competence tool MySkills.
• Act as risk manager with case processing of adverse events and near-misses in collaboration with patient safety resource persons.
• You develop and revise instructions and other professional material.
• You coordinate and inform relevant partners about initiatives and results.
• You participate in patient safety forums, dosage group meetings, meetings in the hygiene organization.
• You are strong in the improvement model and participate in quality and improvement teams as well as local resource-person meetings.

What you bring

• Danish authorization as a nurse.
• Relevant further education (diploma/master’s).
• Broad clinical experience and preferably education/experience as a risk manager.
• You are strong in communication, quality development and implementation.
• You work independently, in a structured and inclusive manner.

A thorough introduction

When you start, you will go through a thorough onboarding process, which includes side-by-side training, courses (both E-learning and physical courses), learning in practice, and guidance.

You will continuously have intro and meetings with your leader.

We focus on our well-being and the good working environment. This is achieved, among other things, by having 1-on-1 meetings with your leader, development meetings with the leaders once a month, social staff events and resident/relative events.
