About the job

We are looking for an engaged association consultant who can assist volunteer leaders in developing their local chapters. The focus is particularly on the association’s leadership, organizing activities, and well-being in the local chapter. As an association consultant, you will often be the entry point to the secretariat, so you are expected to be able to answer all types of organizational questions or guide our volunteers to the right person in the secretariat. In addition, it is often you that volunteers will seek help from if there are problems or conflicts in the local chapter.

It is important that volunteers meet a welcoming consultant who is able to inspire and advise them. You shall therefore be a skilled process consultant who masters facilitating meetings and courses. At the same time you are strong in building relationships with many different people. You have solid knowledge of voluntary work and association leadership.

You will join a team of five association consultants who collectively cover the entire country.

About the position

The most important tasks as an association consultant

  • Ongoing support to our local chapter chairs in fulfilling the role
  • Develop board work in the local chapter – including management of volunteers
  • Develop and teach organizational courses, give talks on topic days and facilitate meetings
  • Motivate increased focus on promoting well-being among volunteers locally and mediate in conflicts
  • Support districts in developing local networks among volunteers in Ældre Sagen’s local chapters
  • Work closely with the elder policy consultants in the Volunteer Department to strengthen local elder policy efforts
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Department’s discipline consultants to initiate new activities
  • Participate in association meetings at all levels including local meetings, district meetings, and meetings between Ældre Sagen’s leadership and local chapter chairs and the annual Delegates’ Assembly.
  • Collect local experiences and ensure knowledge sharing with the rest of Ældre Sagen’s organization

It is expected that you live in one of the areas you cover (Greater Copenhagen-North Zealand – see which municipalities you cover at the bottom of the job description) , and that you work from your home address, where you have a home office.

You should expect ongoing meeting activity at the Secretariat in Copenhagen. You have a driving license and provide your own car, but of course you will receive mileage reimbursement.

About you

We expect that you

  • Have substantial experience with – and knowledge of – working in a volunteer-based organization with political leadership, where engagement is the driving force.
  • Have a heart that beats for supporting volunteers to achieve success with their activities
  • Are willing to take the stage as a facilitator in both large and small groups.
  • Are a skilled process consultant who is used to working with change processes and has a toolbox full of consulting tools.
  • Can work independently while thriving in a collaboration where everyone lifts together.
  • Thrive with changing tempos and are able to prioritize tasks yourself when there are busy periods.
  • Are able to create overview and are capable of supporting and giving space to volunteers.

We offer

  • A varied job filled with meetings with engaged volunteers and work in a social-humanitarian organization with a clear voice, strong values and views on the conditions of the elderly.
  • Close cooperation with the association consultant team (five in total) and all other employees in the Volunteer Department and Secretariat, all of whom are passionate about the cause
  • A work environment in a professional secretariat characterized by meaningful tasks and interaction with competent and friendly colleagues with good humor.

Other conditions

The job requires that you are comfortable being self-driven with a high degree of freedom, which goes hand in hand with great responsibility and loyalty. The salary is negotiated at a competitive level and corresponds to the stated requirements.

The association consultant position covers the following municipalities geographically

Allerød, Fredensborg, Egedal, Frederikssund, Furesø, Halsnæs, Hillerød, Lyngby, Rudersdal, Bornholm, Greater Copenhagen and the Capital Region.
