Head of Department for Adult Disability, Favrskov Municipality

Are you, like us, passionate about working with adults who have a developmental disability and about leading the important task, you can now become part of the team! We are seeking from 1 December 2026 a new head of department for Adult Disability in Favrskov Municipality.

We are seeking a head of department who looks across areas and professional groups and always prioritizes a holistic approach in collaboration with the citizens. We are seeking a leader who can see solutions and opportunities, and who can create good conditions for the employees so that the citizens’ wishes, hopes and dreams are always at the forefront.

The residential facilities Hindhøjen and Fuglebakken

You will become the leader of two residential facilities - at Hindhøjen and Fuglebakken in Hinnerup.

At the Fuglebakken residential facility there are eight residents.

The Hindhøjen residential facility consists of three houses with eight residents in each house. The citizens range in age from 18 to 83 years and need support and guidance to varying degrees - social-pedagogical support is provided pursuant to the Social Services Act §85. In total, for the two residential facilities, there are 25 skilled and engaged staff.

Your office is located at Hindhøjen, but there will be meeting activity, etc. at Fuglebakken and in Hadsten, where our administration and other residential facilities for Adult Disability are located.

You must have a systematic and structured approach to administrative tasks, as well as a focus on appreciative communication in interaction with citizens, relatives, employees and colleagues. You should place a high emphasis on occupational health and safety work and, in cooperation with your employees, contribute to supporting this. You will meet two groups of employees who are ready collaborators in ensuring a daily life with a good working environment and a strong focus on the citizens’ well-being.

In daily life the leadership role is supported by a full-time coordinator and a work-time planner.

Part of a leadership community

As head of department in Adult Disability you must be able to organize and lead tasks and initiatives, so that employees and citizens gain as much action and decision-making authority as possible. You must be able to translate the area’s vision and strategies so that a common direction, mindset and followership are created for our joint task solving. You must be able to formulate measurable development goals and strategies at both the common and local levels.

In collaboration with your area manager and financial staff you must have insight and overview of your own budget, so that there is secure financial operation.

You will become part of a management team of five department heads, a team characterized by high seniority both as leaders and in Favrskov Municipality.

Who are you?

• You have a social-pedagogical or other relevant social- or health-professional education.
• You have experience with management.
• If you do not already have a leadership qualification, you must be willing to participate in a diploma program in leadership
• You have knowledge of the specialized social area and have experience from Adult Disability and/or from social psychiatry
• You have knowledge of the target group and professional approaches
• You have a flexible and appreciative approach to the work and to the staff and leadership colleagues you collaborate with
• You have the ability to delegate and practice distributed leadership
• You can exercise an inclusive and presence-based leadership, close up and at a distance
• You see relatives as a resource who are important for the citizen

Employment process

There will be two interviews: First interview held Friday 6 November, and second interview held Monday 16 November. In between the interviews there will be a test, and the feedback on the test is Wednesday 11 November.

We will obtain references after the second interview.

Salary and terms follow the current collective agreement for managers
