Head of Department for the visiting nursing team in Kalundborg

Do you want to lead a strong and engaged nursing team – and help develop the future close-to-home healthcare in Kalundborg Municipality?

We are seeking a department head for our outreach nursing group. The position includes both professional leadership and staff leadership, and you will be part of a solid leadership team in Homecare, Nursing and 24-hour Rehabilitation (HSD).

You will lead about 35 nurses – both day and evening shifts – based in Kalundborg, where there is also a nursing clinic.

The group covers, among other areas, Kalundborg, Havnsø, Snertinge and parts of Svebølle. In daily work you will work closely with the managers and staff of home care and nursing across the areas.

As department head in HSD you will be responsible for the daily operation of your group and to support professional quality, knowledge and development – both in the nursing group and in the cross-disciplinary collaboration with the home care groups. You must create clarity in direction and priorities, be accessible and credible in your leadership, and at the same time be a present and visible leader in everyday life. Together with the other department heads you share the managerial tasks across the areas so that the overall leadership task in HSD is solved in collaboration.

As department head you are responsible for operations, professional quality and development in your group. At the same time you join a cross-cutting leadership community with the other department heads, where you together lift the overall leadership task in HSD.

You will have the freedom to put your own mark on the position – and you will become part of a strong and trusting leadership team, where there is a short path from idea to action.

Your main tasks and focus areas

• Ensure professional quality and development in nursing
• Strengthen collaboration and coherence with home care and nursing
• Support wellbeing and professional reflection in the staff group
• Engage in cross-cutting tasks, such as:
• Actively contribute to the implementation of the new elderly law
• Implementation of holistic care
• Implementation of the Health Act
• Increased rigour in documentation (Nexus)
• Prevention of caregiver fatigue and dehumanization

Daily collaboration

The close collaborative relationship in daily life will be with the other department heads in the Team. The leadership team in HSD consists of 10 department heads and one chief spread across several geographies.

Planners and administrative staff are also part of daily operations, with whom you will have close collaboration.

Salary and terms of employment

The salary framework for the position is a negotiable starting point of 48,000 - 53,000 DKK per month excluding pension and the flex benefits.

On November 9, 2026, the hiring committee will decide who will be invited to the first interview round. The selected applicants will be informed the same day.

First interview round will take place on November 16, 2026 from 10:00 to 16:00.

The competency profile for applicants progressing to the second interview round will be conducted in week 47. The feedback takes about 1.5 hours.

Second interview round will take place on November 23, 2026 from 13:00 to 16:00.

The applicant is expected to take up the position on January 1, 2027.
