Active part-time job with a focus on play, structure and presence

Do you want practical experience with children with special needs? Here you have the opportunity to work with pedagogical support in a 1:1 relationship, where play, movement and safe settings are at the center.

About the task

We are looking for a staff member for an active boy with autism, ADHD, delayed psychomotor development and an eating disorder. He loves being active and enjoys swinging, climbing trees, and playing on the playground. He also likes trips to Dyrehaven (the deer park) and activities in the local area. Indoors he likes doing puzzles and listening to music.

The boy needs close support, structure and clear guidance. He communicates mainly through body language, facial expressions, actions and a few words, and pictograms are used to create overview and predictability.

Your task will be to spend some good hours together with the boy when he comes home from kindergarten. You will help set up activities, actively participate in the play and create safe/reassuring conditions around the time together. Along the way you should be attentive to his signals and adapt the activities to his needs. You will also support him in meal situations.

You will have the opportunity to use and develop your pedagogical skills in practice, especially in the areas of structure, communication and relationship work.

The task also includes personal care in the form of diaper changes.

About you

The position is ideal for you who are a student in an educational or other relevant program, or who would like to gain more experience in the field of special needs.

We are looking for someone with experience with children with autism and ADHD, and who wants to develop their skills through practical work.

You have a calm and patient approach and can create clear boundaries, while having energy and a willingness to be active. You are good at reading the child's signals, following his initiatives and supporting him in the activities.

Working hours

The position is 14 hours per month.

You work as a rule every Thursday from 16:00–18:30, but there may be an option to arrange another weekday.

Additionally you work two Saturdays per month for 2 hours. The times are agreed with the family.

Outside office hours there is always a staffed guard phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Collective Agreement between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and work injury insurance and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.
