Ambitious teacher with understanding of the autism spectrum sought for Dronninggård classes

Dronninggårdklasserne is one of Rudersdal Municipality's extensive special services for children who need a high degree of predictability in the form of structure, visual guidance and social support. We start from the individual child's needs and resources and work to create frames that enable well-being, development and participation in academic and social communities.

Autism is often one among several descriptions of the child's needs and prerequisites, but our pedagogical perspective always focuses on the individual child's concrete prerequisites, strengths and needs. We meet children with different and sometimes complex needs, and some students come to us after a period of high strain. Therefore the role requires strong specialist educational professionalism—and the desire to continue developing it together with skilled colleagues.

Currently 130 pupils from grades 0-9 are enrolled in the department, which is housed at Holte School. We will start a new cohort for children in grades 6-7, and it could be an opportunity for you to play a role in that task.

About you

As a teacher in Dronninggård classes we expect you to be ambitious on behalf of the students. Our students must have the same educational opportunities as all other children, and therefore we need you!

We expect you to be prepared to go didactically and academically in depth with the teaching task, and to be able to patiently and calmly structure a learning environment to the benefit of our students.

You must be a team player and able to collaborate with different professional groups, who may have different perspectives on solving the task. And you must be able to juggle many balls without losing sight of what each student needs and benefits from.

We need a teacher who

• is trained as a teacher
• can see the value in the relationship with the student always weighing more than formal subject-specific competence
• is ready to work in a structured way with a focus on possibilities rather than limitations
• can engage in close collaboration with the department's other professionals
• is interested in staying professionally up to date within a wide range of special educational areas, e.g., school absence, mentalization, self-understanding and similar
• is calm and smiling.

Salary and employment conditions

The position is expected to be filled by 01.12.2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Interviews are held on an ongoing basis.

This is a full-time position. Salary and employment terms follow the prevailing collective agreement.
