Thyholm School is a public school with about 275 pupils from 0th to 10th grade and about 40 staff in the current school year. The school is located on Thyholm in Struer Municipality and, in addition to the general public school, also consists of three specialized departments and an after-school program (SFO) for both special and general pupils with about 95 enrolled children.
We work across the departments and expect you to want to participate in collaboration and tasks in both the general, special, and school parts from a cross-disciplinary perspective. All pedagogues employed at Thyholm School also work in Thyholm SFO.
What does everyday life look like?
You will in daily work have close collaboration with a special education teacher with a contact function and two to three teachers who handle the teaching in the group currently consisting of 5 pupils, which will be your primary area of work. In addition there will be close collaboration with the pedagogue who is the contact pedagogue in a similar group with the same teacher group.
Your task is to be a pedagogue for the pupils in the group. You should expect to have contact with the parents, but you will not be the primary contact. You will participate in any parent-teacher meetings and participate in the work of preparing individual weekly plans for the pupils. Your work can take place in the group, but it can also consist of supporting pupils in contact with or presence in general classes and/or social communities at the same age level. Your working time mainly lies within your pupil group’s school hours.
In addition, you work some days a week in the school’s SFO in either morning or afternoon shifts, which can lie in the time window 06:00 to 17:00 (Friday 16:00).
Specialized school provision at Thyholm School
At Thyholm School we have three specialized school provisions, which are again divided into smaller groups of pupils. All pupils are admitted to the provisions for one year at a time based on a wide range of challenges, including attachment or developmental disorders such as ADHD or autism spectrum disorders. Common to all children is that they have support needs of more than 9/12 hours per week when admitted to the provision.
The groups are composed if possible taking into account age group, functional level and impairment. Some children in our provision have reaction patterns where they react outward under stress and distress, others withdraw and struggle with unintentional school attendance. The groups and provisions are changeable over time in relation to the pupils' age level, number and current support needs.
Application deadline is
Monday, 2 November 2026 at 23:59.
Inquiries can be directed to the school principal Helene Ørskov Rytter at phone 2213 2026 or the pedagogical head of SFO Pia Søndergaard at phone 2722 0915. Please send us a SMS if you have tried to contact us unsuccessfully, so we can call you back.
Interviews will be held Thursday 5 November 2026 from 15:00.
You will receive an email on Tuesday 3 November 2026 with further information about the time if you are selected for an interview.
