Head of the Labour Market at Rødovre Municipality

Rødovre Municipality is seeking a new Chief of the Labour Market to lead the continued development of the Labour Market Center. Our current head is retiring after 26 years in the position, and we are looking for a successor who can ensure continuity while setting a new course.

You take over a well-functioning center with high professionalism. The employees are engaged and have a willingness to change, and the professional deregulation of the employment reform provides you with a particular opportunity to develop new solutions close to citizens and businesses and strengthen collaboration across the center's units and areas of expertise.

The reform also places significant demands on a more holistic and straightforward employment effort with a clearer focus on the citizen's path to work and education. It will be your task to shape this shared direction for the center after a period of many changes.

You will have overall management responsibility for the center's approx. 130 employees, distributed over four teams as well as the secretariat and corporate services. You will lead four team leaders and have direct personnel management of the secretariat and corporate services, and you will report to Social and Health Director Michael Karlsen.

Rødovre is one of Denmark's most densely populated municipalities, with short distance to Copenhagen and a clear ambition to be a strong welfare municipality. With the vision "Together about Rødovre" the municipality wants to rethink the interaction between citizens and the municipality, where citizens are more co-creators of the local community.

You are an experienced leader with solid insight into the employment area who can set a clear direction in a reform era and translate political and economic frameworks into action. You are decisive and clear without being conflict-averse, and you lead through involvement and collaboration – you manage to create trust and psychological safety, among other things through close collaboration with the MED committee and the trusted representatives. You have a strong citizen-oriented view that aligns with the thinking in "Together about Rødovre".

You are a unifying leader who listens, but also dares to challenge – employees, team leaders and the rest of the system – in a constructive and respectful manner. You bring the center together around a shared culture across the four teams, the secretariat and corporate services – but it must not come at the expense of collaboration outside the organization. On the contrary, you should also open the center up and strengthen cross-cutting collaboration with the rest of the organization. Application deadline
