About the job
Would you like to help create a healthy and safe working environment for employees at our schools, day care centers, clubs and professional offices in Børn og Unge? Do you have experience with occupational safety and thrive in an advisory role where you both support, guide and challenge? Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for.
As an Occupational Safety Consultant you will be an important partner in the work to develop and secure a good working environment in Børn og Unge. We see a good working environment as a prerequisite for fulfilling Børn og Unge’s vision that all children and young people learn, thrive and develop.
About the job
You will become part of the Occupational Safety Team, which supports managers and occupational safety groups in their systematic occupational safety work.
In the position you will work broadly with the field of occupational safety. You will also be part of a professionally strong team where we solve tasks across and bring different competencies into play.
The everyday life offers many different types of tasks. For example, follow‑ups on reactions from the Danish Working Environment Authority, APV (workplace assessment), indoor climate, violence and threats, the use of digital occupational safety systems or development of materials and training for the occupational safety groups.
You will work in a large and complex organization where occupational safety issues often require solutions across disciplines, offices and departments. Therefore it is important that you can see the concrete problem and at the same time understand the organizational context in which it sits.
You often solve tasks together with a colleague, a manager or a local occupational safety group, but you must also be able to drive your own tasks from idea to solution.
Your tasks include among others
- support managers and occupational safety groups in their systematic occupational safety work
- help the occupational safety groups with the IT systems that Børn og Unge provides for occupational safety work, e.g. SafetyNet and Dansk Kemidatabase
- develop and hold courses for the occupational safety groups
- develop materials, tools and other solutions that make occupational safety work easier in practice
- communicate occupational safety knowledge, guidance and legislation on our occupational safety portal “AMBU-online”
To succeed in the role, you should have an affinity for IT and a user‑perspective when new IT systems and digital solutions are introduced. You don’t need to know all the systems in advance – the most important thing is that you want to learn new things and guide managers and occupational safety representatives in navigating the systems in a user‑friendly way.
We imagine that you
- have solid experience with the occupational safety area, e.g. as an occupational safety consultant, as an occupational safety representative or a manager from a public organization
- have an academic or professional background, preferably within the children and youth sector
- have experience with and can conduct yourself securely in the consultant role and know when the task calls for that you support, guide, challenge or quality assure
- are a strong communicator who can make complex knowledge understandable – both in teaching and in dialogue with your collaborators
- are keen to learn new knowledge, legislation and IT systems
- have experience from a politically governed organization – an advantage, but not a requirement.
As a person you are
- trustworthy and good at building relationships with different people and professional groups
- structured and good at prioritizing when several tasks and considerations must add up
- independent and proactive, while naturally seeking collaboration with your colleagues
- a team player who contributes actively to a good professional and social community
- good at reading a situation and displaying professional judgment – also when the issues are complex
