Skilled educator for our special class in the lower school

An educator whom children seek out, whom parents trust, and with whom colleagues want to stand together – even when the day doesn’t go exactly as planned.

We are looking for a new colleague for our special classes in the lower school at Østervangsskolen in Randers.

Maybe you are the piece of the puzzle we need to make the picture complete?

Who are we looking for?

We are of course looking for professionalism . You must be able to think pedagogically, reflect on your practice and be curious about what lies behind a child’s behavior, but your view of humanity is just as important to us.

We are looking for you who meet children with calm, warmth and genuine interest . You who can keep an overview when a child loses theirs. You who know that children do not always express with words what they need.

You don’t need to have the solution to everything, but you must have the desire to find it together with the child and your colleagues.

When plan A doesn’t work …

… then we will find plan B together.

At ØST we work with children who need the adults around them to be able to adjust the course. Some days go straight along the highway. Other days require a detour.

Therefore we are looking for a colleague who stands firm without being stuck .

Someone who dares to ask: What is the child trying to tell us? instead of only asking: How can we get the child to do what we want?

You must be able to stay calm when the situation becomes difficult – and afterwards be curious about the child’s, the colleagues’ and your own role.

You won’t be alone

You will become part of a team in the lower school, where together you create daily life around two classes.

We share experiences, challenge each other, provide professional sparring and help each other when something is difficult.

And we laugh together.

That last part is actually quite important.

Because we believe that high professionalism, seriousness and humor can happily live under the same roof.

Who is ØST?

ØST is the special department of Østervangsskolen. Here about 70 children and young people from 0th to 10th grade with various needs and prerequisites attend.

Our task is not to make all children fit into the same box.

Our task is to create frameworks where the individual child gets the opportunity to succeed.

We work with structure, predictability, relationships and individual considerations – but also with ambitions.

We want learning and we want well-being. The two go hand in hand.

And we want to help make our children as life-ready as possible.

At ØST we work based on Wholehearted Learning in Community and with student involvement as an important part of our pedagogical stance.

We are, after all, not finished learning.

The practical

The position is in our lower school (0–3 grade), and the working hours are distributed between school and after-school care (SFO). Most of the hours are in the school part.

Since SFO is part of the task, your working hours may be before and after school hours.
