Would you like to make a difference for a young man – and at the same time share some good experiences together?

We are seeking a regular companion for an outgoing and curious 24-year-old man who loves concerts, restaurants, Tivoli, museums and trips by bus and train.

He lives in a residential facility in Karlslunde and has many interests. He is, among other things, really fond of concerts, restaurants, Tivoli, museums, game cafés, table tennis and bus and train trips .

He finds it exciting to go to new places and often has ideas of what you can do together.

That means you can look forward to a job with plenty of variation – and where a trip to work could, for example, be a concert, a visit to Tivoli, a game of table tennis or a train journey to a new place.

He has autism with significantly reduced functional level, mild intellectual disability and focal idiopathic epilepsy. Therefore he needs a companion who can create safe and predictable frameworks , while at the same time leaving room for his wishes, interests and participation in decisions.

You do not need to have experience with epilepsy. You will be thoroughly trained in how to respond if he has an epileptic seizure. The most important thing is that you are calm, responsible and eager to learn.

What does the job involve?

Your main task is to help create good, safe and cozy experiences outside the residential facility .

You plan the trips in advance, and he will naturally be involved in what you will do. Once you are out, it is you as the companion who is responsible for sticking to the agreed plan and creating a good and manageable outing.

He can be impulsive and come up with new ideas along the way, and here it is important that you can be calm and clear, acknowledge his wishes and at the same time kindly help him back to the plan when necessary.

He likes talking about his interests, so you should want to listen, be present and engage with what he tells you. At the same time you should be able to set clear and respectful boundaries when necessary.

It amounts to 15 hours per month, about every other weekend . You pick him up and drop him off at the residential facility in Karlslunde, which is close to public transport.
