About the job

Are you a student and looking for an exciting internship for the spring? Or do you dream of gaining experience in research, analysis and quality development in an organization that makes a difference? Then DEFACTUM might be the place for you. We are currently seeking 8 interns for our three departments, where you will have the opportunity to work broadly with health and society-relevant issues in a professionally strong environment.

We take responsibility for your internship

At DEFACTUM we work to create knowledge that makes a difference. We are a research and consulting company under the Central Denmark Region, where we develop new application-oriented knowledge that improves the welfare sector's services and interaction. As an intern with us you will become part of a professionally engaged environment, where your contribution contributes to important societal issues.

We value our interns highly and have extensive experience in integrating students into our three departments: Quality Development , Public Health Research and Data & Analysis . Our flat structure ensures that you are seen and heard, and we value the new perspectives our interns bring to our organization. Therefore we hope you want to become part of DEFACTUM in the upcoming spring semester, starting 1 February 2027.

We work on many different projects across a wide range of areas, and we therefore need interns with different competencies, both qualitative and quantitative. Therefore, it is important for us to understand your background and your interests so we can best match you with the tasks we currently have, as well as those that arise during the coming period before you start the internship.

What can we offer you?

  • A good sense of community: You become part of a social and professional network where you can spar with both other interns and experienced colleagues.
  • A flexible workplace with freedom under responsibility: You help steer your working hours, with the possibility of remote work, flex time and the freedom to place your meeting times so they fit into your calendar.
  • A monthly recognition allowance of up to 3,000 DKK: We value your efforts and acknowledge your contribution to our work.
  • Meaningful tasks: You will have responsibility and be involved on an equal footing with the staff in the projects. We tailor the tasks to your interests to ensure a learning and rewarding internship.
  • Relevant experience: You will have the opportunity to work with current issues and thus gain both relevant and professional ballast. Many of our former interns have continued with us as student assistants, research assistants or in connection with thesis writing.

What will I do as an intern?

Right now we at DEFACTUM have several concrete projects that need interns with both qualitative and quantitative backgrounds. As our work is constantly evolving, new needs may arise along the way, so we are also interested in hearing what motivates you, so we can together create the best internship. Please feel free to indicate which of the following current tasks you are interested in.

Current tasks you can be part of

Data & Analysis

Gitte Dahl

In Data & Analysis we work with evaluation and development of welfare services. As an intern you will have the opportunity to work with clinical and user-experienced quality, including in connection with the National Patient Experience Survey (LUP) and monitoring of municipal prevention programs. It may also be that you will work with qualitative methods in connection with a concept that DEFACTUM has developed. Tasks can include validation of questionnaires via interviews, preparation, data collection, data handling, quantitative analyses as well as visual and written communication of results.

Public Health Research – Rehabilitation at Marselisborg Center

Pernille Pedersen

In Public Health Research we are focused on creating new knowledge that can improve citizens' health and well-being. We are seeking an intern for research in rehabilitation, where we among other things examine everyday life and employment attachment for young people with mental health problems and psychological disorders as well as late effects after cancer. Our project portfolio varies a lot, so you will try different tasks and methods. You will here be able to work with data collection, data management, analysis and literature search.

Public Health Research – The Local Health Service

Lotte Groth Jensen

If you are interested in the development of the local health service , you can become part of a research program that examines how health services can be organized closer to citizens' homes. Tasks may include mapping and analysis of health initiatives as well as qualitative data collection, document analysis and literature review.

Public Health Research – Health Data and Digital Proximity

Lotte Groth Jensen

We are seeking interns for research projects on digital health, health data and implementation. We work with analyses of why many digital health solutions do not become sustainably anchored in the health system, and which factors support or hinder their implementation. As an intern you can gain experience with qualitative methods, including document analysis and interviews with health professionals, decision-makers and patients, as well as contribute to developing recommendations that can strengthen sustainable digital solutions in the health system.

Public Health Research – Citizen, Patient and Health Professional

Lise Arnth Nielsen

In addition we are looking for interns who want to work with citizen and patient perspectives in the health system. You may be assigned to projects on the development of the local health service, where we examine what happens when health interventions move closer to citizens' everyday lives. This can include how citizens and professionals experience and respond to these changes. We mainly use qualitative methods and literature searches.

Public Health Research – Population Surveys

Martin Mejlby Jensen

We are seeking research interns with interest in surveys and quantitative methods, who can contribute to our project on women's health and well-being viewed from a life-stage perspective, as well as a project on loneliness, social isolation and alcohol. As an intern you will have the opportunity to work with data from one of the country's largest questionnaire surveys on health and well-being in the population, and you will gain experience in data processing, quantitative analysis and literature search.

We have many different projects underway, and we know our interns come from different backgrounds and interests. Therefore we would like to hear what motivates you so we can together find the tasks that give you the best return from your internship.

If you have questions or would like to know more about a specific project, please contact our internship coordinator Rasmus Mølgaard Hansen at [email protected] or 2475 0792 – we look forward to hearing from you!

Please note that we continuously invite for interviews, and that we will remove the posting when we have found the right interns.
