About the job

Horsens Municipality is looking for a new colleague for our Groundwater Team. Protection of groundwater and clean drinking water is a high priority in Horsens Municipality

In our team we create the framework for drinking water, a safe and stable water supply and protecting the groundwater from pollution threats.

With us you become part of a strong professional environment where we focus on both quality and efficiency – and where we help each other, even when it is busy. With us you have the opportunity to make a difference in a daily life characterized by professionally exciting tasks, cross-disciplinary collaboration and a strong political focus.

Horsens city and the surrounding towns are growing rapidly with many new residential and commercial areas. We support development in the local plans, constructions and infrastructure projects that naturally follow.

Your tasks

Your tasks will be a wide range of different water supply, groundwater and environmental tasks.

Your primary tasks will be physical supervision of waterworks, supervision of drinking water quality, light case processing within groundwater and drinking water, approval of tariff sheets and waterworks regulations, internal coordination of raw material hearings, wildlife regulation, sludge reports and cadastral matters.

You will have a varied job, where you will both have your own areas of responsibility and tasks that support colleagues' areas. Therefore you get a large interface to colleagues in the department and the organization in general, where the citizen and applicant are in focus.

We expect

You are educated as an environmental technologist, agricultural technologist, biologist or similar, and have experience within particularly drinking water and groundwater.

You must be willing to engage in dialogue with citizens and businesses, where you focus on possibilities that contribute to finding good and constructive solutions within the framework.

We attach importance to that you

  • have experience with authority work within the drinking water/groundwater area, preferably from a municipality.
  • have knowledge of waterworks, including water treatment and boreholes.
  • have knowledge of raw material hearings, wildlife regulation, sludge reports and cadastral matters.
  • are good at communicating - both in writing and orally in Danish - and are eager to communicate and engage in dialogue with waterworks, citizens and advisors
  • enjoy working cross-disciplinary and are able to systematize and prioritize on a busy day
  • thrive in a team where collaboration is highly valued
  • engage in the tasks and the collegial community
  • have a flair for using IT systems. We use, among others, WebGIS, SBSYS, GeoEnviron and BEST VN, JAGG, GeoAtlas live and Scalgo

Driving license is a requirement.

We offer

  • a flexible, team-based organization
  • opportunity for professional sparring
  • a good, busy and informal work climate
  • permanent employment and a 37-hour flexible work week
  • employee benefits (fitness room, holiday homes, etc.)
  • salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Salary is negotiated with the recognized trade union.

The Groundwater Team consists of 6 skilled employees, of whom 5 work primarily with groundwater and drinking water. We are part of the Nature, Environment and Climate Department, where we are just over 60 engaged employees with diverse competencies within nature, water and the environment.

The Nature, Environment and Climate Department is characterized by an informal tone and a good social environment. We are organized into professional teams with independent task solutions. The department is responsible for solving the many municipal authority tasks in the nature and environment area, which in addition to groundwater/drinking water also include tasks within soil contamination, wastewater, nature, rivers, agriculture, outdoor life, pests and climate adaptation.
