About the job

Does corporate taxation and the special rules that apply to Denmark's foundations and associations under the Foundation Taxation Act seem like a meaningful job for you? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for. Denmark's foundations and associations carry out many different tasks including research, culture, sport and education. As an employee you will help ensure that the tax rules are administered correctly, and that the tax advantages are given to the purposes the rules are intended for . You thereby get the opportunity to combine your tax expertise with a task that has a broader significance.

Variation in tasks, high professionalism and development

We are seeking one to two new employees for our office. You can either have experience in the area, or you can be at the start of your career. Our main task is to handle the inquiries we receive from foundations and associations, etc., but also other tasks, such as post-audits in selected areas, strategic work, consultations in connection with proposed changes to the law, etc.

Our tasks are diverse, e.g.

  • To determine the objective tax liability - e.g. whether a unit is covered by the rules of the Danish Corporate Tax Act (selskabsskatteloven) or the Foundation Taxation Act (fondsbeskatningsloven)
  • Assessment of Foundations/Associations' purposes, as charitable organisations have different tax advantages in the legislation
  • Calculation of taxable income under the rules of the Corporate Tax Act and the Foundation Taxation Act
  • The exemption provisions in the Corporate Tax Act and the Foundation Taxation Act with respect to the annual reporting obligation
  • Selected approval provisions under the Tax Assessment Act (ligningsloven)
  • VAT.

Inquiries from foundations and associations are varied and of differing difficulty. As we are organized today, everyone in the Foundations and Associations unit works with many different task types. In the startup phase we will plan an individual induction program with a buddy system. There will continuously be opportunities to take on your own areas of responsibility.

Our expectations of you

It is important that you have a tax background such as a tax auditor or a higher education in either economics or law, such as cand.merc.jur., cand.merc.aud., cand.jur., professional bachelor in taxation or equivalent.

It is an advantage to have knowledge of foundation and association taxation, VAT, and a generally good understanding of the practical implementation of tax law.

It is important that you want to be part of a team where knowledge sharing and sparring are highly valued. You are also driven by depth and detail with an active and solution-oriented approach to your tasks.

As this is a job with large levels of contact, it is important that you are good at communicating and can express yourself clearly and precisely – both orally and in writing.

Foundations and associations – your new workplace

Our unit belongs to the Benefits and Corporate Tax Department, which is located under the Ministry of Taxation and Growth.

In the unit we are 22 employees who take pride in being good at combining our knowledge of tax rules, economics and law, so we solve our tasks efficiently and with high quality.

With us you get both responsibility, professional development and balance between work and private life. We have an open and good tone with a pleasant social atmosphere. We pull together, take care of each other and have the necessary professional sparring.

We have an exciting and varied daily work life with diverse tasks, where there will also be opportunities for competence development and further education and training.

We have planned to hold interviews in week 45. A logical test and a personality profile analysis may be included in the recruitment process. References and a criminal record check will be obtained prior to employment.

We also check whether you have any resolved control and/or criminal cases in the tax and duties area.
