Permanent position, 37 hours/week, rotating shifts, every 3rd weekend. Start 1 November 2026 – or talk to us about timing.

About the department

We take care of patients with surgical challenges in the upper gastrointestinal tract - esophagus, stomach, bile ducts, pancreas – plus breast and obesity surgery (we have regional function). The pathways range from quick and simple to truly complex.

We work in teams - a nurse and a social and health care assistant as a partnership - with full focus on professionalism and quality. We also prepare the next generation: nursing students and social and health care students are a regular part of everyday life.

With us, work should be fun – or at least pleasant – to go to. High ceilings, room for quirky ideas, and a tone where humor is welcome. When you are ready for more responsibility, there are plenty of key roles and specialized tasks to jump into.

The big family

We are part of Surgery – an independent department with both Gastric and Intestinal Surgery. We also work closely with Cardiovascular Surgery, and all three inpatient wards are side by side on the same floor – which provides strong interdisciplinary collaboration and lots of flexibility. In addition, we have 5 clinics, partly staffed by trained personnel from the departments.

Each of the three departments has its own lead nurse who works closely across – so the management is always close to you in daily life.

Monday, 12 October and Tuesday, 20 October from 15:30 - 17:30 you have the opportunity to come to the job cafe and meet us at the Gastric Surgery Department in Meeting Room 1, 7th floor, Building 4, Viborg Regional Hospital. Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement in the area.

With reference to the Child Certificate Act in connection with the employment of personnel etc., a child certificate will be obtained in connection with potential employment.
