A day as an asphalt worker at Colas

As an asphalt worker, we mostly start early in the morning, where the crew meets at the new work site. On a large machine crew there are 5 asphalt workers, a foreman, and a supervisor. When the day starts, we put our heads together and talk about what needs to be done, and which spots we will lay asphalt on today.

We also make a safety assessment, where we discuss what we need to be aware of.

You work, for example, with a shovel, tractor, roller, or paver. Since we cover a large area, you will see many of Denmark's towns and roads. When the workday ends, you typically drive home with a couple of your colleagues who live nearby. In peak season we spend many hours together at work. We know each other well. A bit like a family, and it is important that we get along well.

About you

• You have a ordinary driving license, category B
• You are positive, reliable, and show up to work with a good mood
• You are flexible regarding working hours and tasks
• You have experience with asphalt work, road construction, earthworks, or agriculture
• It is advantageous, but not required, if you are machine-savvy
• You enjoy working outdoors.
