About the job

Valby School is a three‑stream school, located in a wonderful building in the heart of Valby

The school building offers many opportunities to work across classes and in the shared areas. We are close to Valby Station, so there is easy access to the school. We have good teamwork, so there is always someone to brainstorm with. We have a really well-balanced student body, where everyone has the opportunity to belong to a strong community, which we develop in close collaboration with the school’s parents.

Our KKFO, Potteskåret, is located on the ground floor of the school. In Potteskåret we have various workshops and activities that fill the children’s leisure time.

A bit about the positions

Position 1, practical helper at the school

At Valby School we have a pupil with a mobility disability. As a practical helper, you participate in everyday life and assist with the practical tasks around our pupil. This can involve bathroom visits, excursions, social activities in breaks or in Potteskåret.

We are looking for a helper who has a natural flair for being present when needed, and stepping back when possible, so the children’s communities get their own space. Additionally, it would be advantageous if you have experience working with children, e.g. being able to initiate play and engage children in an activity.

Position 2, assistant in the kindergarten class

As an assistant in the kindergarten class, you support the kindergarten class teacher’s work in the class. You may also sometimes need to be able to manage a small group of children on your own when doing group work. It is the kindergarten class teacher who has the professional responsibility.

Salary and employment terms

Position 1: The position has an average weekly working time of 23 hours. Since there are several pupil-free weeks during the school year, you work more during the weeks when the children are in school in order to accrue time off for the pupil-free weeks. This means you work more than 23 hours in the 40 weeks the children are in school.

Position 2: The position has an average weekly working time of 22 hours, which is defined as an annual norm just like position 1.

Salary and employment terms according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. We obtain a child and criminal record check and take references in connection with employment.
