About the job

Are you our new colleague – and do you want to help make a difference for our target group through support, guidance and testing, then you have the opportunity here at De Små Bofællesskaber under the social area’s disability initiative

De Små Bofællesskaber in Randers Municipality are anchored under the Area for Developmental Disability and Mastery and are a non-24/7 offering, which contains 8 group homes around the municipality. Mastery guides provide support, from a mastery perspective, to adults over 18. The target group is citizens with intellectual disabilities. Some citizens in the target group may have other diagnoses in addition thereto.

About the job

At Grenåvej ground floor there are 8 disability-friendly apartments with own bathroom, kitchenette terrace/balcony. Right above is Grenåvej 1st floor which also houses 8 apartments. There is close collaboration between the two departments. The common areas consist of a shared TV room, dining room, kitchen and large terrace. On weekends and on special occasions all 16 residents eat together. On weekdays the two floors eat separately. It is the care staff in the group homes who shop and cook daily, preferably in collaboration with the residents.

We are in the middle of a process, where we work towards an experience of one group home with 16 residents, rather than two group homes with 8 residents each. You therefore have ample opportunity to help shape the future of the group home on Grenåvej. An element of this process is also a possible expansion of staffing, and thus the time when staff are in the house.

The 16 homes are inhabited by a wonderful citizen group, with a good spread of age and gender. Common to them is that they are really happy to live in the group home and show great care for each other. The residents value a good and cheerful atmosphere, which the staff play an important role in supporting and contributing to. The residents are keen to participate in activities and trips out of the home. We therefore prioritise initiating activities, preferably focusing on the body, movement and the good life. Several residents are in a variant of day-time employment, and we have an important task to support this.

As a mastery guide in the group homes you help support the residents based on Randers Municipality's quality standard with starting point in the Social Services Act § 85 and with a view to increased mastery. You work in the residents' homes, in the group home common areas and at the Mastery Guides' office, which is based at Ydervangen. In most of your working time you work independently without your colleagues, and therefore you must be strong in belief in your own assessments and able to act on them. There are no health professional or care tasks in the job, as these are performed by home care.

Working hours mainly fall in the period from 8.00-19.00 every day of the week. Currently there is work every 3rd weekend. You are employed as self-directed and plan your own shifts in collaboration with the three colleagues across the two departments. Working hours, weekend rotation and conditions for self-planning may change in the future if other needs arise in connection with the process of a possible staffing expansion.
