Atuarfik Hans Lynge is located at the end of Nuuk, in Qinngorput. The school is situated in a beautiful natural area with mountains, waterfalls and lakes. Atuarfik Hans Lynge is a modern school that was taken into use at the start of the 2011 school year. The school contains all teaching rooms as well as modern equipment and IT equipment, such as iPads and Apple TV.

The school has grades 1-10, taught in 2 and 3 streams. There are currently 497 students and 41 teachers.

There is a well-functioning staff, a positive and dialogue-based school & home collaboration, clear and visible leadership with good parent cooperation in daily life.

Criminal and Child Certificate

The position is subject to the Act on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. In accordance with the law, employment may only commence when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We should therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with consent from the individual, where the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization, as of the start date.

Employment will take place with a 3-month probation period.

Housing

For the position, housing can be allocated for staff, for which a deposit and rent, consumption, etc. are paid in accordance with the applicable rules for rent payments in the Greenlandic Self-Government and the municipality’s properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be provided immediately on commencement, a temporary vacant housing will be offered to employees with the right to vacant housing, for which rent, consumption, etc. are paid according to the above. The start date depends on when staff housing is available. A relocation travel and moving allowance is provided in accordance with the applicable rules.
