About the job
Would you like to help build something new?
Are you interested in working as an audiologist-speech-language pathologist with people with acquired brain injury – and are you also ready to put your professional mark on a completely new offering?
Then we have an exciting opportunity for you.
At Bodil Eskesen Center we are seeking an audiologist (audiologist-speech-language pathologist) for a permanent position, initially 37 hours per week. You will become part of our strong multidisciplinary team and have a special opportunity to contribute to the development and establishment of our new specialized department for neurorehabilitation, which, in connection with the health reform, we are transferring to Region East as of 1 January 2027.
This means that you will not simply step into a finished function. You will have the opportunity to help shape how we organise and develop the audiologist-speech-language pathology services in the new offering.
What will you do?
We are currently working with patients in the early stages after a severe acquired brain injury. Brain injuries can occur after, for example, stroke, head trauma or anoxic brain injury and can have major consequences for both the patient and the relatives.
Often there will be linguistic and communicative difficulties such as aphasia, dysarthria, verbal apraxia, cognitive communication difficulties, voice problems or other complex communicative challenges. We also see patients with severe consciousness impairment and locked-in syndrome.
Here the audiologist-speech-language pathologist plays an important role – in the assessment, in the concrete intervention and in helping patients, relatives and staff find ways to better communicate.
You will, among other things, be working with
- Audiologist-speech-language pathology assessment and clinical observations
- Individual and group-based intervention
- Rehabilitation of language, speech, communication as well as reading-, spelling- and writing functions
- Advice and conversation support for patients, relatives and staff
- Education and knowledge sharing single- and multidisciplinary
- Participation in multidisciplinary meetings and planning of rehabilitation trajectories
- Documentation and professional development
- Collaboration with municipality and other relevant partners
- Keeping up-to-date professionally and contributing to the development of the audiologist-speech-language pathology services.
Our inpatient pathways are typically longer-term – weeks to months – so you will have the opportunity to follow the patients closely, observe development over time and get to know patients and relatives well.
And then there is the new…
From 1 January 2027 we will expand with a new specialized department for neurorehabilitation. This is where we hope you will want to be involved.
We are therefore looking for an audiologist-speech-language pathologist who both enjoys clinical daily work and finds it exciting to be involved when something is built from the ground up.
You will have the opportunity to bring your professional ideas into play, contribute to developing workflows and services and set the direction for how the audiologist-speech-language pathology should work together with the other professional groups in the new department.
In short: We do not have all the answers yet – and that is actually part of the point.
You will be part of …
Our psychosocial logopedics group consisting of: 4 audiologist-speech-language pathologists (including you), 9 neuropsychologists, 1 crisis psychologist and 4 social workers
A multidisciplinary environment with: Physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, nurses and other professional groups closely around the patients.
We place emphasis on high professionalism, knowledge sharing and sparring – but also on it being pleasant to come to work. We help each other, are curious about each other’s professions and have room for both professional discussions and a good laugh in everyday life.
You will also have the opportunity for relevant competency development as well as participation in networks and conferences.
Who are you?
You are educated with a master's degree in audiology and preferably have experience with neurology and neurorehabilitation – e.g., from hospital, municipality or another relevant setting.
Perhaps you already have solid experience with acquired brain injury. Perhaps you are relatively new to the field but have a strong professional interest and a desire to learn. The most important for us is that you are passionate about audiologist-speech-language pathology and want to make a difference for people with brain injury and their communication.
We hope you
- can carry out audiologist-speech-language pathology assessment, intervention and documentation
- have an interest in neurology and neurorehabilitation
- would welcome experience with or interest in conversational support
- can work independently while thriving in a close multidisciplinary collaboration
- are curious, flexible and want to develop both yourself and our offering
- can maintain an overview, also when today’s plan changes along the way
- contribute with engagement, presence, empathy – and preferably a good sense of humor.
We offer you
An audiologist position with professional weight, great variety and the opportunity to influence.
You will have the opportunity both to immerse yourself in the concrete rehabilitation of patients with complex communicative difficulties and to help develop the audiologist-speech-language pathology services in a new specialized neurorehabilitation offer.
And you will have a workplace at the new Bodil Eskesen Center with modern facilities for patients, relatives and staff.
There is already good activity in the house – and from 2027 there will be even more.
Would you like to be involved from the start? Then we would love to hear from you.
