About the job
As we have the opportunity to expand our team of night shift staff, we are now seeking a night shift worker with a start date no later than 1 December 2026.
We focus on creating good conditions for the development of the citizens and for a good working environment for staff at the autism center at all times of the day and night.
We believe in
- That a culture striving for a shared WE is developmental for both citizens and staff.
- That focused professional development increases the quality of social-work.
- That shared responsibility for the workplace creates ownership, well-being and engagement.
- That a psychological work environment based on a strong professional community fosters development for both citizens and staff.
- That curiosity and genuine interest in others are the key to favorable development.
- That everyone, regardless of working hours and type of contract, has an equal responsibility to create a highly functioning and professionally developing workplace.
If the above makes sense to you, we would love to see your application.
As a night shift worker you will handle tasks at both Bilstrupvej 27 A-E and in the flex housing units, which are located right next to Bilstrupvej. The night shift also covers the night telephone for citizens in two of our other offerings in the municipality. There are three night shifts on duty at a time to cover the tasks.
At Bilstrupvej 27A-E there is room for 39 residents over 18 years. All have an autism diagnosis, several of them have mental and/or somatic comorbidities as well as lasting cognitive impairments in moderate to severe degree. In the flex housing units there are currently two residents.
Although a large part of the night shift task is to create calm and security during the night hours, there are still social and health care tasks to handle, as well as practical tasks to be solved during the night hours.
You are expected to perform relevant documentation in Nexus, work in a structured way with handling of the tasks and ensure proper completion and handover.
Night shift work starts at 21:45, so there are days when it is you who tucks some of the residents in bed, just as there are days when some residents have woken up before you go home and therefore need support with the morning routine.
Currently the night shifts operate on a 7/7 arrangement, i.e., 7 days on duty and 7 days off. The position you will cover works from Tuesday to Tuesday.
All night shifts are of course offered a health check.
No one can do everything, but we hope you can say yes to much of the below
- You have experience with citizens with autism and cognitive impairments.
- You are familiar with challenging behavior.
- You are good at creating calm and safe environments.
- You agree that assistance with personal hygiene is part of the core task.
- You are inclusive, participatory and respectful in meeting with the citizens.
- You would like to communicate and share your professional knowledge.
- You thrive in a high degree of teamwork and contribute to your colleagues having a good workday.
- You are driven by actively influencing and developing our workplace.
We offer
- A workplace focused on developing a professional community and a healthy psychological work environment.
- A workplace that desires your active contribution to development, professionally and culturally.
- A workplace that sets mutual expectations and shows that you are important.
- A workplace where we support and take care of each other
- A workplace where we will spread enthusiasm.
- A fixed team of night shift staff so you know your colleagues well.
- Quarterly night shift meetings
- Thorough introduction to the tasks as a night shift and the professional system Nexus.
