Maternity leave substitute for the lower primary at Munkholmskolen

Are you a relationship-minded and present teacher who can create a safe, curious and structured learning environment for our students in the early years? Then you may be the maternity substitute we are looking for in our primary school.

At Munkholmskolen we are seeking an engaged Danish teacher for a maternity substitute in the early years with start date 1 November 2026 and lasting until the summer of 2027 with the possibility of extension. The position is full-time.

About the position and the subjects

You will become a central part of the everyday life in the early years, where your primary focus will be to support the students' academic and social development. You must be able to take on the class teacher role in 3rd grade.

Your primary teaching subjects will

• Danish

Where you will be responsible for the foundational reading and writing development and strengthen the students' linguistic curiosity

• Nature/Technology

Where you together will explore the world, venture into nature and ask big questions. The lessons are scheduled as part of the class's outdoor day

• English

Where you, through play, songs and dialogue, introduce the students to the English language in a lively way

• History

Where you manage to make the past present and tangible for the younger year groups through storytelling and creative activities

• 2 - teacher in Danish instruction in 1st grade

In addition to teaching, you will be part of a close and committed team collaboration with the other teachers and pedagogues in the year group. The close collaboration around the students' well-being and the leadership of the classroom is a cornerstone of our pedagogical work.

We are looking for a colleague who

• Is a trained Danish teacher and preferably with specialization or experience in several of the mentioned subjects
• Has the desire to and interest in working with students in the early years
• Is strong in classroom management and can create structure, predictability and safety in an active daily routine
• Sees parental collaboration as a resource and places a high value on an open and appreciative dialogue with the home
• Is a positive team player who actively contributes to the professional learning community

Munkholmskolen is a well-functioning folkeskole (public school) located in Stevnstrup in Randers Municipality. We have 400 students, of which 180 are enrolled in SFO. Salary and terms of employment

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
