About the job

Be involved from the start – become a student assistant in the Defence's new 3D printing capacity

Can you see the opportunities within “Additive Manufacturing” (3D printing), and do you see yourself in a role with user support, operations and network building? If this is you, we look forward to receiving your application at the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (FMI).

About us

The Defence is in a time where the security-political global situation has accelerated military-technological development, and where technology and innovation have taken a seat at the helm. There is therefore a need for new staff to operate and carry out the tasks that must be solved via new thinking and technology.

The position is located in the newly established Capacity Center 3D-print where we work to enable the use of 3D printing for operational needs, such as printing temporary spare parts, as well as supporting printers and scanners.

Capacity Center 3D-print is among four teams in the Department of Analysis and Development, under the Supply Chain Division. Here our task is to support a modern and efficient Supply Chain by handling projects within development of Supply Chain, automation, technology and analysis. We consist of about 20 employees, composed of civilian and military staff, with very different backgrounds and skills. We see this as one of our greatest strengths.

We have a wide external interface with Defence units and internally in the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization, as well as broad collaboration within NATO and the European Defence Agency (EDA).

We offer a flexible everyday life, with great opportunity to plan your tasks yourself and organize work routines.

About the position

You will support the establishment of Capacity Center 3D-print, where you shall contribute to strengthening and supporting acquisitions within 3D printing across the organization, as well as structuring the use of 3D printing with operational effect across the Defence.

You will assist with the practical part of 3D printing such as technical drawings, development of prototypes and 3D printing. Finally you must be able to support users, and assist with procurement of 3D printers, materials, etc.

You will have the opportunity to create broad contact with our colleagues at the Defence workshops and operational areas, where you must be good at forming relationships and building a strong collaboration, to understand soldiers' needs and issues with spare parts and 3D printing.

We expect that you can work at least 15 hours per week on average, and together with you we will find a balance between workdays and your studies.

About you

We imagine that you are currently pursuing a relevant academic education, for example as an engineer. It is an advantage if you have experience from your education or from a manufacturing company, where you have worked with 3D printing, and you have practical experience with scanning, technical drawing as well as development and processing of 3D files.

As a person you are curious and proactive. You take responsibility and can work independently. You have a systematic and organized approach to your tasks, and you thrive with routine operations. You articulate yourself clearly in writing and speech in both Danish and English.

You will succeed in the position when you, together with the team, support the establishment of 3D printing as an attractive and strong capacity, and you contribute positively to the department's well-being. We offer a position where you will be challenged on your skills and given responsibility within the framework of a student job.
