Our wonderful nutrition assistant on the 1st floor has said yes to her dream job.

If you like cooking from scratch where traditions, holidays and your own creativity go hand in hand with residents' wishes and needs?

Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for at Højstruphave Plejecenter.

Højstruphave is a small and cozy care center with three departments, 12 residents on each department. There is a kitchen on each department, and you will be responsible for the kitchen in one of the departments.

A portion of our residents live with dementia, and therefore meals have special importance.

Food is not only about nutrition – it is also about quality of life, recognizability, senses, good experiences and community. We emphasize that the food looks inviting, smells good and tastes of something – even when appetite is small.

You will be part of a kitchen team across the house, where we help each other during holidays, illness and other needs. Together we plan among other things monthly menus and food for special events. We also prepare food for users in our day care to some extent.

Your tasks

You will have among other things responsibility for

• Planning and preparation of nutritious, tasty and varied food
• Preparation of all meals of the day in your department and planning of weekend food
• Adapting the diet to residents' individual wishes, needs and nutrition plans
• Purchasing, ordering and receiving goods
• Self-check and food safety, including documentation in e-smiley
• Cooperation with care staff on residents' nutrition and well-being

We are looking for you who

• Are educated nutrition assistant, cook or home economist.
• Have interest in homemade food, elderly nutrition and quality of life
• Have understanding of how diet matters for the elderly and can adapt food to individual needs
• Have control of hygiene, self-check and food safety
• Work structured and independently and can keep overview of today's and upcoming days' tasks
• Are flexible and helpful and thrive being part of a kitchen team
• Are smiling, welcoming and want to chat with residents
