About the job

Would you like to use your legal expertise in an area where national legislation, EU law, administration and political decisions meet?

We are seeking an experienced jurist who has an interest in regulatory work and will work with both national and EU law within the forest and nature area. You will have the opportunity to become part of a professionally strong team in the Forest Unit, where we work with, among other things, the Forest Act, the Nature Protection Act, the EU nature directives, the deforestation regulation and good governance, and where we work together to solve tasks across disciplines.

Law with influence on the forest and nature area

As a jurist with us you will work at the intersection of regulatory work, administration and political processes, and you will have the opportunity to influence the future development and management of the forest and nature area. You will play an important role in legal quality assurance and in sparring with colleagues. Your tasks will include:

  • preparation of laws and regulations
  • legal quality assurance and legal sparring for colleagues
  • interpretation and communication of national law and EU rules
  • assessment of specific legal questions within the unit's areas
  • preparation of written decision proposals to the minister and the board
  • contribution to answering questions from the Folketing
  • coordination of cross-cutting orders and cooperation with other units, agencies and ministries.

We are looking for an analytically strong jurist with a holistic view

You have a cand.jur. degree and are motivated to delve into a new professional area. You thrive in a politically driven organization where professionalism is in the foreground.

We also place emphasis on the following

  • have a good knowledge of public administration
  • have good collaboration skills and can collaborate across professional groups
  • have experience with drafting regulations and/or bill proposals
  • can make specialized knowledge easily understandable, relevant and usable for the recipient both in writing and verbally
  • are analytically strong, can handle high professional complexity and have a good view of different angles on a case
  • work in a structured way, have strong process management skills and can maintain an overview, even when things move quickly

It is advantageous if you have experience from central administration or another politically governed organization.

Knowledge of the Forest Act, Nature Protection Act, access rules, nature directives, the deforestation regulation and the nature restoration regulation or parts thereof is also advantageous.

A strong professional community across the country

We are a unit of about 45 employees, three team leaders and a head of office. We are organized with teams at three locations in the country (Hinnerup, Odense and Nykøbing Falster) and therefore have a strong focus on close and trusting collaboration that works at a distance in everyday life, but also through joint meetings. You will become part of a professionally strong community with meaningful tasks that can develop in pace with your knowledge and understanding of the area.

With us you get

  • tasks with many partners in the unit and the agency as well as many touchpoints across ministries and agencies.
  • professionally strong colleagues in an environment where we place emphasis on everyday well-being, good collegiality and good humor.
  • an onboarding process where you are introduced to your tasks and new colleagues. As part of the process you will be assigned a mentor whom you will have ongoing contact with during your start.
  • a flexible working environment with a high degree of responsibility for planning and the possibility of home office days.
