Become a pedagogical assistant trainee in Tønder Municipality – with employment on Basic Course 2

We are seeking 1-2 trainees for an apprenticeship agreement starting on Basic Course 2 in week 6, 2027.

With an apprenticeship agreement with Tønder Municipality you are guaranteed a training place and pay during both the Basic Course and the main course under current rules.

What will you learn?

In the education you will learn to work professionally and pedagogically with people of different ages and life situations.

You will, among other things, work with

• pedagogical activities and communities
• children, young people and the elderly within both general and special areas
• health, well-being and quality of life
• communication and relationship work
• activities, outdoor life and digitalization
• collaboration with citizens, relatives, colleagues and other professional groups.

In Basic Course 2 you work with fundamental pedagogical and health-related theory. The teaching is practice-oriented and activity-based, and you also have 1 week of training .

Your path to becoming a pedagogical assistant

You start on Basic Course 2 in week 6, 2027 at SOSU Syd in Aabenraa. The Basic Course typically lasts 20 weeks.

When you have passed Basic Course 2, you continue on to the main course to become a pedagogical assistant.

The main course lasts 2 years and 1.5 months and alternates between school and training periods. School periods take place at SOSU Syd in Aabenraa, while the training takes place in Tønder Municipality.

Have you already passed Basic Course 2? Then you do not need to apply for this position. Keep an eye on Tønder Municipality's job postings in spring 2027, where we expect to open an additional 4-5 trainee positions for the main course.

Admission requirements

To start Basic Course 2 you must meet the admission requirements for the education, including having passed Danish and mathematics from 9th grade with at least grade 02.

You must also have applied for admission to Basic Course 2 at SOSU Syd in Aabenraa via optagelse.dk.

If you are 25 years or older, you must have completed a recognition of prior learning (RKV) at SOSU Syd or another SOSU school. An RKV can show whether you may receive credit for parts of the education based on previous experience.

To get started you must apply for admission to Basic Course 2 via optagelse.dk and then apply to enter into an apprenticeship agreement with Tønder Municipality.

• RKV, if you are 25 or older
• residence and work permit if you come from a country outside the EU/Schengen
• documentation of work experience if you are applying for adult apprentice wage

Practical

• Salary: Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

You can receive adult apprentice wages if you are 25 years or older and meet the requirements for relevant work experience. You must document your work experience yourself.
