About the job
Would you like to help develop the monitoring of the Defence's critical cyber infrastructure? As an IT monitoring specialist, you will be a central part of a strong team that ensures stable operations and contributes directly to the Defence's operational task execution.
About us
The Operations Center, which reports to the Operations Department in the Cyber Division, is responsible for monitoring the Defence's complex IT systems – so we can safeguard Denmark's interests - at home and abroad.
We are a section with dedicated and skilled specialists, case handlers and officers, who work closely together to ensure stable IT operations. The Cyber Division is one of the country’s largest IT organizations, and we deliver IT services to more than 20,000 users nationally and internationally. The Operations Department plays a central role in building the Defence's IT and cyber capabilities.
We have an informal tone in a dynamic and collaborative environment, with high ceilings and good humor. We also place emphasis on a good working environment with modern facilities, flexible working hours and a culture characterized by openness and professionalism.
About the position
This is a newly established position in a section with high professionalism, where you will be part of a team consisting of colleagues, managers and a section chief.
As a monitoring specialist you will work with monitoring complex IT systems, including
- Monitor the status of the IT services that the Cyber Division is responsible for
- Monitor and prevent operational incidents
- Maintain a situational picture
- Participate in the analysis of current operational incidents to be able to determine where the problems originate
- Work independently on cases of operational incidents
- Collaborate with Service Managers and subject-matter specialists, among others, in order to handle more complex cases
- Contribute to the ongoing optimization of monitoring and case handling
Initially, the position will be carried out within normal working hours, with a significant focus on developing the monitoring capacity. In time, it is intended to be included in a 24/7 duty roster.
You will have a fixed workplace in Hvidovre, and due to the sensitive nature of the work there will be limited opportunities for home working.
About you
We envision that you are trained IT support or computer technician. You may also have another background with relevant experience.
You are collaborative, have an in-depth understanding of IT and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. You understand how your contribution supports the Defence's operational tasks, and you are motivated to create solutions that make a real difference.
It is advantageous if you
- Have experience with IT monitoring and incident handling from previous roles, preferably in larger organizations
- Are familiar with ITIL, WAN and virtualization
- Have good Danish and English skills in both written and spoken form
Employment terms
The employment is in accordance with the current Fællesoverenskomst between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Public Sector (OAO-S collective agreement) and the organizational agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT employees.
Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is a possibility for negotiation of supplements. There is an employer-financed pension scheme linked to the position.
The workplace is in Hvidovre.
As an employee within the Ministry of Defence, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.
As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peacemaking, humanitarian and other similar operations.

About the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization
The Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (FMI) is Denmark's central authority for the armed forces’ and emergency services' materiel, IT and cyber security in peacetime, crisis and war. We work to ensure that the entire defence is equipped, updated and operational — at a time when the demands for speed and combat power have never been greater. It is we who procure, operate and dispose of materiel and IT for the Army, Navy, Air Force and the rest of the Ministry of Defence’s group.
It is our IT employees who daily help avert the cyberattacks the group is exposed to. We are a diverse organization with about 2,500 employees — civilian and military — spread across the kingdom.
