Become an SSA trainee in Solrød Municipality

As a social and health care assistant apprentice in Solrød Municipality, you will become part of an exciting and varied daily life where the citizen's needs and life situation are in focus. You will develop professionally and personally and gain competencies to work with complex health-related issues.

You are not alone with your education. We will follow you along the way and we also expect you to actively take responsibility for your learning and development.

What will you work with?

As a social and health care assistant apprentice you will learn, among other things, to

• work in a rehabilitation-focused way and support the citizen in managing daily life as well as possible
• provide holistic personal care and assistance based on the individual citizen's needs
• work with health promotion, prevention and quality of life
• observe changes in the citizen's physical and psychological condition and act professionally on them
• build knowledge about diseases, treatment and medicine
• collaborate with among others social and health care helpers, nurses and doctors
• document your work and follow up on the citizen's care and treatment.

Communication and relationships are an important part of the job. You will learn to meet people with respect and understanding and to create trusting relationships with both citizens and relatives.

You do not need to know everything in advance. The most important thing is that you want to learn and are ready to take responsibility for your education.

How the education is conducted

The education alternates between school and on-the-job training. You will go through your education program in on-the-job training within:

• the municipal health and elderly care area
• psychiatry
• the hospital sector.

You will have a training placement secured throughout the education, and Solrød Municipality is your employer during the entire process. Your school periods take place at ZBC SOSU Køge.

When you have completed your education as a social and health care assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in hospitals, in psychiatry and in the municipal health and elderly care area.

Practical information

Education start: January 18, 2027, on the SSA education at ZBC Køge.

Admission requirements: You must have completed Grundforløb 2 or have merit as a trained social and health helper.

If you are already trained as a social and health helper, your training is shortened by about five months, and you will therefore start on an ongoing cohort.

Wages during the education

You will be paid throughout the education according to the applicable collective agreement.

Monthly salary as of October 1, 2026

SSA apprentice, 1st year: 15,822 DKK

SSA apprentice, 2nd year: 18,026 DKK

Adult apprentice (over 25 years): 25,777 DKK.
