Part-time job as a disability assistant for a woman with a family: 24 hours per month distributed over 2 fixed daytime shifts on weekends

I am looking for a friendly person who would like to become part of my team of good helpers for practical-physical tasks. Maybe you are the one I am looking for? :)

The job

I am 42 years old and live with my husband and children aged 3 and 9. Since I have muscular dystrophy and use a power wheelchair, I need your help with everything I do, e.g. in connection with household chores, shopping, toilet visits, personal hygiene, help to take care of my children, driving my box van with automatic transmission, light gardening, picking up small items, turning me when I sleep, performing stretch exercises when I go to bed, etc.

I lead an ordinary family life with a well-functioning helper scheme, and I am quite clear about what I need help with. We use a ceiling lift for most transfers (and I do not use a respirator).

There is talk of a permanent position totaling 24 hours spread over two shifts on a fixed 4-week rotation. The position is highly suitable for you if you are studying, self-employed, or just need a little extra to pull in.

The shifts are as follows (as of today Monday 5/10-26 we are in week a)

Week a: Saturday 6:30-22:30

Week b: none

Week c: none

Week d: Sunday 6:30-14:30 (as a rule)

The helper team covers each other’s shifts in case of illness, holidays etc., and therefore you are expected to be able to cover such cases in addition to your fixed shifts.

Contract and salary

You will follow the Civic-Managed Personal Assistance (BPA) collective agreement and be paid a base salary of 156.19 DKK per hour. Depending on the time of day you work, you will receive allowances on top of your base salary. The allowances follow the mentioned collective agreement.

You value good cooperation with me and the other helpers. We are a small team that look after one another and understand how important it is that everyone contributes so there is balance. You are therefore also dependable, responsible and have your background in order just like the other helpers, and you appreciate having a fixed schedule.

You understand that you should step back and give me and my family space to be ourselves in our private sphere. You therefore also thrive in your own company, are okay with being quiet, and can occupy yourself in the helper room when there are no tasks.

You are good at remembering routines and are practically inclined. Most often we do things in the same way here at home, among other things to ensure that the helpers can be as self-driving as possible.

You thrive with children around you. Perhaps you have experience with children and know what it entails.

You are physically robust, as there will be tasks that require you to be able to grab hold.

You can work in a smoke-free work environment throughout the working time, you have a driver's license and can speak and understand Danish. Deviation will unfortunately not be considered for the position.
