Bioanalyst sought for a temporary position in the Multi S section, Blood Samples and Biochemistry, Aarhus University Hospital

We are seeking a bioanalyst for Blood Tests and Biochemistry, Aarhus University Hospital, for a maternity leave cover in the Multi S section.

The vacancy is available from 1 December 2026 – 30 August 2027.

About Multi S

In the section you will become part of a team of 20 dedicated bioanalysts who all rotate between pre-analytical and laboratory tasks.

Specimen collection is carried out both at the clinical departments and in our sampling unit for children/young people in the northern part of AUH, where among others Psychiatry, EMERGENCY/Trauma Center and the pediatric departments are located.

In the laboratory, analyses are performed in the areas of mass spectrometric-, chromatographic-, immunochemical- and chemical analyses of medications, including antibiotics, immunosuppressants, substances of abuse (cannabis, ecstasy, cocaine), antifungal agents, psychopharmacology and biologic medicines.

The bioanalysts in Multi S cover shifts around the clock every day of the year. The shift work mainly consists of specimen collection in the clinical departments.

You will be trained to become a pediatric sampler and with this competence you will be able to take samples from all age groups, from the smallest newborns to adults of all ages.

• are a licensed bioanalyst or have another relevant background
• enjoy patient contact; sampling in both adults and children
• can remain calm and keep an overview, even when things move quickly
• are meticulous, responsible, loyal, hardworking and reliable in attendance
• are a good colleague who focuses on everyone's working environment.

About Blood Tests and Biochemistry

Blood Tests and Biochemistry, Aarhus University Hospital is an accredited biochemical laboratory with about 300 employees. We have annually around 1.4 million patient contacts and issue around 13 million analysis results. The services are performed for the hospital's clinical departments and the area's general practitioners. A number of special analyses are also performed for other hospitals.

The department's strategic ambition is to take blood samples and perform biochemical analyses for the benefit of patient treatment.

In the department a good working environment is prioritized, and currently there is a particular focus on the mental working environment, which all employees are expected to contribute positively to.

The position is 37 hours per week with a duty to be on call 24-7.

Working hours in daytime shifts are 7:00 – 14:24.
