Become my extended arms – two helpers sought for an active family father (54) in Hellerup

Are you an independent, caring and positive person with life experience, who feels like making a difference in an active family's daily life? Then it might be you I'm looking for.

I am a 54-year-old man who lives in Hellerup and is father to three children aged 10, 18 and 20. My two

youngest children live at home about every other week.

I have ALS, which gradually has reduced my muscle strength. I can still walk by myself, albeit with a little difficulty, and I still have mobility in my arms and hands. Conversely, my strength and fine motor skills have been limited.

Therefore I am seeking two helpers who can be my extended arms in daily life, so that I can continue to live an active and independent life with my children and interests.

What will you help me with?

The tasks are varied and follow the daily life of me and the family. They include, among others:

• Light personal care and help with morning routines
• Shopping and cooking – breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• Preparation of meal kits, for example from Aarstiderne
• Ordinary household tasks, cleaning and laundry
• Accompanying to activities such as swimming, the children’s football matches and other leisure activities
• Driving to various activities and appointments
• Practical help with the small and large things in everyday life, where my strength no longer reaches

A little about me

I am curious about life and am interested, among other things, in nature, art, music, sport and

psychology.

I value good conversations, humor, a cozy home and an active family life. It is important for me to maintain my independence and continue with the activities that give daily life meaning.

Who are you?

I imagine that you are a woman or man, preferably over 30 years old, who has life experience and is

used to taking responsibility for a household.

You should ideally

• Be independent, initiative-taking and practically inclined
• Have a desire to cook good and healthy food
• Be calm, flexible and have a good mood
• Be natural and relaxed around children and family life
• Share some of my interests
• Have situational awareness and understanding of when help is needed, and when privacy is needed
• Have a valid driver's license for a ordinary passenger car (category B)

You do not necessarily need experience as a disability helper. For me, personal chemistry,

maturity, reliability and the desire to help are at least as important.

Working hours and framework

I am seeking two fixed helpers, who together must cover 49 hours per week.

The starting point is a roughly even distribution with about 24-25 hours per week for each, but the hours can be distributed flexibly between you according to need and a closer agreement.

Working hours will primarily be during the day, but there will also be hours late in the

afternoon and around dinnertime.

The work includes both weekdays and weekends, and I emphasize that we can together find a flexible and well-functioning work plan.

The workplace is my home in Hellerup and the activities we go to in daily life.
