About the job

Are you passionate about leadership, interdisciplinarity and specialized neurorehabilitation? We are seeking a visionary chief nurse who will help ensure cohesive care pathways of high professional quality for people with acquired brain injury.

An inpatient ward with a strong sense of purpose and high specialization

At Ward 10 (W10) we always put the person before the injury. We are an inpatient ward with both regional and highly specialized function for patients with acquired brain injury, and we have room for 13 patients, all of whom require specialized neurorehabilitation. Our patient pathways are long, and that gives us a particular opportunity to work deeply and holistically – not only with the injury, but with the whole person and the life the patient will return to.

What characterizes us is an interdisciplinary staff group, passionate about the patient group and neurorehabilitation. Our strength lies in close interdisciplinary collaboration, where we bring our different professional backgrounds actively into play, challenge each other and share knowledge openly. Psychological safety is the foundation for our collaboration: We dare to share our opinions, ask for help and learn from each other.

Your duties as chief nurse

The ward leadership in W10 has the overall managerial responsibility for a staff group of about 40 employees – nurses, social and health care assistants, occupational and physical therapists, and a secretary. In addition, there is a neuropsychologist, a social worker and a speech therapist attached. You will exercise leadership in a close team together with the leading therapist and the ward’s affiliated doctors.

  • Ensure cohesive patient pathways with high professionalism and smooth transitions on admission and discharge
  • Take responsibility for pathway management together with the other leadership in W10
  • Fulfill the dual leadership role between W10 and the overall Hammel Neurocenter
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation together with the leadership, development and research group

You will work closely with the ward’s three specialty-responsible staff and be part of a large network of engaged leadership colleagues. From 2027 RHN will take over specialized neurorehabilitation in the next phase in connection with the implementation of the health reform. You will therefore, together with your colleagues in the ward’s leadership team, join the overall interdisciplinary leadership group across all three sites in Hammel, Skive and Lemvig. W10 is located on the Hammel site.

About you

We are looking for a leader with an inspirational leadership style that supports and prioritizes competence development. You are skilled at communicating, exude energy and are a good role model. You have a clear nursing professional identity that you actively use in the interdisciplinary neurorehabilitation. You can create direction, have impact and follow up on what you start.

You have organizational overview, good administrative skills and a flair for financial management. At the same time you are a person who reaches out when sparring, support and help are needed – because you know that we lift best as a team. It comes naturally to you to balance between the monofocal leadership of the nursing group and the broad interdisciplinary collaboration.

What we offer

  • An interdisciplinary staff group that is passionate about neurorehabilitation and characterized by high professionalism
  • A monofocal focus in the nursing group with a basis in Fundamentals of Care as a framework for reflection
  • Leadership in a close team with the leading therapist and the ward’s affiliated doctors as well as close collaboration with three specialty-responsible staff
  • A large network of engaged leadership colleagues with good opportunities for sparring and development

Onboarding

You will receive a solid onboarding process in Hospital Unit Central, which introduces you to both managerial and administrative areas. Here you will become part of the organization and have the opportunity to engage in cross-unit collaborations. With us you will find a work community driven by professionalism, human closeness and a shared ambition to make a difference.
