As a parking attendant in the City of Copenhagen, you are an important part of the cityscape and daily ensure parking control and thus help create space in the city’s streets, squares, bicycle lanes and sidewalks. The job involves that you

• perform parking control and issue parking fines to illegally parked vehicles
• guide and assist road users
• work outdoors and move around the city by bicycle or on foot
• perform other tasks e.g. opening and closing of Copenhagen’s cemeteries

Who are you?

We expect that you

• are open-minded and good at collaborating in a diverse work environment

• are conscientious and reliable
• see others’ needs and are ready to go the extra mile
• write and speak understandable Danish
• have IT skills at user level, so you are able to use e.g. a smartphone and Microsoft Office
• are a local of Copenhagen (an advantage)
• have a driving license for ordinary passenger car Category B (an advantage but not a requirement)

Working hours

We are looking for both day and evening shifts, where the start times are currently 08:00-15:24 and 14:30-21:54 respectively.

In time there will be opportunities for late and night shifts, where the start times are currently 17:30-00:54 and 22:00-05:24.

We have a workweek of on average 37 hours including lunch break. We have shift plans that cover all seven days of the week all year round. Therefore you also have the opportunity to bid for available shifts. As a day shift you will have a fixed weekend rotation every 4 weeks. And as an evening shift you will have a fixed weekend rotation every 6 weeks.

Parking Area is part of the Building, Parking and Environmental Authority under the Climate, Environment and Technology Administration. Parking Area is a leader in parking activities and focuses on quality in work while we want to be an attractive workplace. In the Building, Parking and Environmental Authority we take the city’s needs into account and work to create predictable, coherent and efficient authority handling.

We are primarily responsible for authority tasks within construction, environmental protection, parking and traffic and urban life, and we strive to ensure a flexible and welcoming service culture towards the municipality’s citizens and businesses.

Salary and terms of employment

The employment start is February 1, 2027. We offer attractive employment terms with salary according to the collective agreement for technical service concluded between FOA and KL. The salary as of October 1, 2026 is 29,199.18 DKK per month plus employer-paid pension of 15.00% after three months combined prior employment in municipalities and/or regions within the last eight years.

In addition, there is shift allowance on weekdays from 17:00-06:00 of 34.12 DKK per hour, Saturday allowance from 11:00-17:00 of 40.52 DKK per hour, weekend/public holiday allowance Saturday 17:00 to Monday 04:00 of 74.66 DKK per hour. Any qualification allowance can be negotiated with the negotiating organization depending on qualifications. In connection with the hires we will obtain a criminal record and references.

About the Climate, Environment and Technology Administration

The Climate, Environment and Technology Administration handles authority tasks and serves citizens and businesses, including in environmental matters, local planning, urban renewal, building case processing and traffic and urban life. In addition, it is the Climate, Environment and Technology Administration that is responsible for cleaning, maintenance and development of the city’s roads and parks and conducts parking control. We employ about 2,700 employees and administer a gross budget of just under 4.8 billion DKK.
